Having trouble booking Avanti tonight - is it just me?

Trying to book Manchester - London, fill in my e-mail and password and it's not accepting (thought it might be my password - changed it but makes no difference) "sign in for quicker bookings" - all I'm getting is the circle going round and round or this message Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Tried different browser and my phone.

Is there any other booking site where I can book standard premium? Obvs tried this site's but standard or first class only. If the site's busy then I'll just have to be patient and hope the cheapest tickets are still available!

That's not quite true, the forum's site will happily sell you standard premium tickets.

Thanks, I've been trying and can't see how - even under seat reservations. I'll try again!

Found out how but struggling - it looks way more expensive than via Avanti (standard out, standard plus back) but I'll keep trying.

It's on the search page - if there's a Standard Premium Advance available for your journey, you'll get a prompt to upgrade.

Getting there - using split tickets I can get out and return for £41.48 with r/c (ace!) but it looks like I have to upgrade on both, not just the return leg like I can with Avanti (£85.50 as opposed to £60-odd). So I'm gonna have to try two separate bookings, see if that works

...and it does! had to make two separate bookings to get SP on the return leg, it's cost the same as Avanit so no saving but on the plus side I now have my tickets and can book my hotel!

Excellent; that's good to know. So just one complaint left, if you book (say) Manchester to Brighton on the Avanti site you don't have the SP option? Always had to book separate sections in order to get SP (as the upgrade on board is way too expensive for what it is).
