Yes, due to issues with HD03 67029 has now gone onto HD06 putting 5 sets out for the rest of the day.

5 out again tomorrow, 67010 is planned to come off HD04 after 1V39 with 67014 going on ready for 1W96.

It could in theory go until Saturday but seems unlikely it will be out again prior to the exam. Its not got a loco on it now either.

HD01 shouldn't be far off now, believe it should become available for Saturday or Sunday.

Just booked an advance first to Cardiff for 25th January on the 9.10 departure from Crewe (1V37), so I really hope it's not swapped-out for a 197.

67017 connected to HD01

HD03 has no loco. It was 67029.

Believe HD03 is now on it's B exam.

Not too sure what the issue was but it is still the plan for the loco swap to 014 and out on W96.

For the weekend, Tomorrow should have all 4 diagrams with everything available except HD03 which takes the place of now completd 01 on heavy B exam. HD01 and HD06 are on the Crewe starts with HD05 spare at ATC, HD02 and HD07 are on the Canton starts.

Sunday has HD05 on the Crewe diagram and HD07 on the Cardiff, with HD01 spare at Canton, HD02 starting a 2/3 day minor exam at Crewe.

Next week should see HD01/04/05/06/07 available for service plus HD02 ready from Tuesday/Wednesday.

Yes. TfW services do not currently offer seat reservations.

Many of them show as 'Reservations available' on whatever system feeds Real Time Trains though, and the little diamond symbol appears in the PDF timetables. Any idea why they do not honour their promises in that regard?

I suspect it's to facilitate the "counted place" reservations associated with advance tickets.

Ive just booked an advance return to Manchester in the Rail Sale for February. Got it for £57 return which is a bargain as last time I paid over £100. Unfortunately there were no advance first class tickets for the day/time im travelling however im considering upgrading for the Cardiff to Manchester part of the journey as I connect into the 0853 from Cardiff on the out journey. I really want to try the breakfast for the first time as it looks amazing. It is probably better that i cant upgrade until the day as a) it may be subbed for a 197 and therefore avoids having to claim a refund and b) with a connection at Cardiff if it was late and id miss it for some reason it would also avoid having to claim a refund other than delay repay.

Albeit a total coincidence, it is interesting that it is the same unit substituting today as yesterday.

This week has been better, so hopefully a corner is being turned. It has only been part diagrams substituted and that's definite progress (still 0 days with 5 full diagrams operated entirely as Mk4)

Yes, nothing can be done about the Wilmslow turn around (much as it is a massive annoyance for those of us coming from Manchester it happens irrespective of stock)

Really hope the sets make it through the rest of the day, but sadly no conclusion can be reached until the last diagram makes it to the end (arrival of the 18:30 from Manchester into Cardiff?)
