Not being funny but this is why the sprinters are useful, if they had some available something would run id rather something run than nothing it’s a bad look cancelling services like this. I completely get everything going on but it’s just how i feel.

They won't be able to rely on the sprinters much longer however. Apart from HOWL and Crewe local they won't be doing anything else in the long term.
And once Cardiff stop they won't be able to cover the Manchester's even if Crewe train crew cover the entire diagram?
The availability of the MK4s seems to be getting worse before it gets better.

Was on a Mk4 set tonight but only from Manchester to Stockport. 18:30 from Piccadilly. 67015 doing the honours.

Is it possible to confirm what sets are on exam or repair please,
As far as I know,
Set 1 on B exam ATC.
Set 3 Tyre turning EMD, is this also due exam ?
Set 5 ATC no heat Dvt, is this now also on exam ?
Set 7 ATC moved over yesterday not in service.
Is it also possible to say
Is the exam pattern mileage in use based, or hours in service regardless of mileage etc ?

01 is midway through its B
03 is tyre turn but by the time it gets back to ATC is likely to be due B exam
05 is now on minor exam
07 was due out on v31 today so some issues must have been picked up on its return to ATC.
Exams are based on a Calendar day cycle (28 days) there is also a mileage cap in each cycle but the baseline is the days.

HD07+67014 are heading down ECS to Canton today and should re-enter service tomorrow.
Plan for the weekend is a bit bare with:
67010+HD04- 1W11 1V37 1W59 1V50
67013+HD06- 1W61 from Crewe 1V62
67014+HD07- 1W13 1V39 1W63
Sunday has HD06 on the Cardiff diagram and HD07 then Monday should be 5 with HD02 out of Holyhead, HD04 and 06 out of Canton and HD05 and 07 out of Crewe. Those 5 are available to cover the diagrams but require 100% availability until HD01 is back in a week or so.

67013 + HD06 have managed the full diagram, it’s on the 05:12 from Crewe this morning 1V31
Apologies if this is a silly question - do the Mk4s come out to play on bank holidays? I’d like to book a couple of First Class tickets on Easter Monday for me and the child bride when tix are available, but I’m concerned that a) their reliability is awful and b) it’s all pointless if they’re not diagrammed on bank holidays at all.

Yes they normally work
But like you say, no absolute guarantee
On the day if it will be a 67 & set.
1V37 could be a unit.
1W61 leaves at 14.50 not 15.40
Is normal a 67 & set.
Nothing through Stockport that weekend diverted Wilmslow via Style to & from Manchester

The plan for tomorrow in post 1035 should still be current for tomorrow.
As pwr the post above, a change today regarding 67013+HD06 doing a different part of the diagram than originally planned but it should be ready to go again tomorrow on the Canton diagram with 67014+HD07 out of Crewe.

HD07 kept at Canton with a buzzer fault, hoped to get it back to Crewe on the 18:53 from Cardiff.
If that doesn't happen one of the 2 Canton finishes (likely v62) will be swapped out at Crewe to avoid overloading Canton and balance things for tomorrow.

1V50 showing as a unit from Cardiff, 67010 set HD04 taking on 1W26
Yes, that's the new plan to keep at least 1 set at Canton for tomorrow as there's nothing spare at Crewe to take out a set. 1W26 terminated at Crewe due to low fuel.
67010 is due an exam tonight/tomorrow so if its not ready for the Crewe diagram, potentially HD05+67016 may work that if they're ready in time.
Edit- Neither expected now so the Crewe diagram looks like it will be 197 operated.

HD05 is ready for service but due to issues with the equipment at ATC it needs to visit Canton before it's able to enter service, just like HD07 last week. It's planned to head down ECS tomorrow and re-enter service on Tuesday now due to this so the diagram starting 6:27 from Manchester tomorrow will be a unit.
Of the others tomorrow, HD01 is still on exam, HD02 should start from Holyhead, HD03 runs ecs Crewe ETD to Crewe ATC, HD04 in service starting 1V31, HD06 in service starting 1W13, HD07 in service starting 1W11. All subject to change in the day.

How much progress has been undertaken for HD08? I passed Landore yesterday and I couldn't see the coach and DVT so I'm assuming it's been shunted into the shed. 82204 I believe was hiding in the back of Landore as per usual. Has anything been done for the coaches at Bristol too?
