Sneaky trip through the Elizabeth Line core section under diesel power. At 220mph it will have given the ventilation system a bit of a fright!!

The amount of station dwell time is surely proportional to the number of good boys and girls in the local area that Santa had to deliver to. The less time he spent at a station, the more wrong ‘uns locally.

Of course to find out the number of wrong 'uns, you need to normalise for the population in Santa's catchment area for that station and adjust for the demographic mix. I was wondering how to compensate for the geographic size of the catchment (some will have remote farms and houses) but as I am sure somebody will point out, the actual deliveries are now carried out by the elf-cloud using the train as a focal point, so that won't come into it. I believe Santa does bring the reindeer along too, though, so as to avoid wasting all the carrots that are left out. (The elves mop up the mince pies and sherry these days). Santa just sits the control car and supervises operations.

If the elves are now doing the deliveries, I’m concerned that they have to take photos of each delivery under each tree as proof, and how that complies with GDPR.
