That's right! The photo was taken a couple of weeks ago, while waiting for the Siracusa portion of the sleeper train to Milan to arrive.
Thanks. Having a hunt through my collection and will hopefully come up with something suitable tomorrow.

How about this one?:

So that's ETR 252 "Harlequin", right? Is this station close to where it was renovated in 2016-2019?

No....but not too far away. I realise that there are very few clues in the picture - apart from a generic Italian water tower and (somewhat tumbledown) goods shed. The photo was taken on the day in June 2019 when the newly-restored unit was transferred from the OMS workshops at Porrena to its new operating base at Pistoia....at the point of reversal. It is standing in a bay platform not normally used by FS-Trenitalia trains.

How about Pratovecchio-Stia?
No....because that (my local station, incidentally!) is in the wrong direction. However....
Or failing that, a final guess of Arezzo?
Is the right answer! The unit had been hauled from Porrena into bay platform 1N at Arezzo - normally used by TFT services to and from Pratovecchio-Stia - by TFT (ex-FS) diesel-electric loco no. D341 1063....and then a short time later it was shunted over to the down yard, where preserved FFSI electric loco no. E646 028 was waiting to couple-on and haul ETR 252 back to its new home at Pistoia.

Tocc'a te! ;)

Thank you... that was actually the exact same platform I arrived on at Lourdes in August 2013, albeit I came via TGV through Bordeaux...

Now, where might this be?
