I know the purists normally foam at the mouth at any sort of brand tie in but this looks really cool. I would argue it looks better than the current 2009 stock moquette.

One car only, 13039 (third carriage from the south of unit 11039/40).

In place until January 7.

Actually, most of the issue around brand activations ordinarily is that they directly affect usability of the transport network. Tangential station renamings or funnying CIS displays are lazy - as this activation, and the previous PlayStation activation at Oxford Circus - demonstrate.

Nice to see some creativity that won't adversely affect usability whilst bringing in some cash for TfL, tbh.

Can we have branded seats on every tube train please. Finally, some nice new moquette and not the worn out, dirty seats we've got used to.

Don't recall any moaning about branding of trains.

Branding of stations is very different

It'll be interesting to see this in January, when the re-fit 09 stock moquette, you'll have one carriage with brand new seating with the rest remaining a disgrace.

To be fair, that's kinda the case at the moment. There are a few cars running around with pretty much completely new moquette, and plenty of other examples that have been spot replaced.

This also isn't dissimilar to all of the other lines, even prior to 2020. I think some of these criticisms are a little unfair.

Not sure if this is a good idea.

The Victoria line trains are constantly packed, with all seats occupied. Therefore, the adverts will be blocked by bums.

I think it would be a better idea if they wrapped the interior walls or exterior walls with adverts instead.

Now its time to see the Nintendo Switch seats on the Central line with me playing Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing and other cool games. I almost never use electronics on the Tube but this would be exceptional. How about Xbox on the District line?

I don't think it's possible to vinyl wrap the 2009 stock exterior.

This is how brand tie-in should be done it is visually impactful yet does not adversely affect the usability of the network like messing with station signage does, they could go further and apply branded vinyls to the interior and exterior walls as long as the wayfinding/safety signs are unaffected and it is still clear that that is an in-service Tube train. A few specially branded trains could be a nice break from uniformity and a good money maker for TfL.

Am I remembering correctly that an entire train was wrapped for Yellow Pages at one time? It does seem like it could be a money spinner for TfL, but I suppose these days ongoing costs to maintain its presentability would be high.

As @Dstock7080 mentioned, yes - Circle / District / H&C line C Stock. The seats had a yellow + black moquette too. I used it quite a often, when commuting Fulham to central London.

Yeah right... I bet the removed covers are sitting in a corner somewhere ready to go straight back in the condition they were removed

Funny you should say that...

I travelled in this exact carriage this evening (13039) - lo and behold it is not new moquettes. Sorry - completely forgot to take a picture, was on my way back from work. I am certain I was in that unit. I even walked up to the 3rd from the front (northbound) just in case it was the wrong number reported - but no, definitely the same old/rundown seats that were in place before.

Were these advert moquettes placed over the old seating then? That's the only thing I can think of. Particularly looking at the armrests, there's no way they replaced these with the old coverings, they're too worn down (these were replaced with adverts, weren't they? - I never managed to come across this PlayStation carriage in my travels as I didn't have the time to try and find it or wait around for it).
