Actually, most of the issue around brand activations ordinarily is that they directly affect usability of the transport network. Tangential station renamings or funnying CIS displays are lazy - as this activation, and the previous PlayStation activation at Oxford Circus - demonstrate.I know the purists normally foam at the mouth at any sort of brand tie in but this looks really cool.
Don't recall any moaning about branding of trains.I know the purists normally foam at the mouth at any sort of brand tie in but this looks really cool. I would argue it looks better than the current 2009 stock moquette.
A shame if that's the case, as this is a free clean up of seats - all the trains could benefit from! Hopefully they don't rip these out and put the grubby ones back!In place until January 7.
As both a Tube and Playstation fan I think this is excellent work.
To be fair, that's kinda the case at the moment. There are a few cars running around with pretty much completely new moquette, and plenty of other examples that have been spot replaced. It'll be interesting to see this in January, when the re-fit 09 stock moquette, you'll have one carriage with brand new seating with the rest remaining a disgrace.
I don't think it's possible to vinyl wrap the 2009 stock exterior. Not sure if this is a good idea.
The Victoria line trains are constantly packed, with all seats occupied. Therefore, the adverts will be blocked by bums.
I think it would be a better idea if they wrapped the interior walls or exterior walls with adverts instead.
Why not?I don't think it's possible to vinyl wrap the 2009 stock exterior.
When I used WAGN services in the mid 1990s, the seats on the 313s smelled of Nintendo Wii....Now its time to see the Nintendo Switch seats on the Central line with me playing Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing and other cool games.
... and the Wii was released in 2006, ~10 years later. Can't believe WAGN predicted the future. When I used WAGN services in the mid 1990s, the seats on the 313s smelled of Nintendo Wii....
The smell of "Wii", courtesy of Friday night drunken passengers, on train seats back then..... and the Wii was released in 2006, ~10 years later. Can't believe WAGN predicted the future.
Yellow Pages, C StockAm I remembering correctly that an entire train was wrapped for Yellow Pages at one time? It does seem like it could be a money spinner for TfL, but I suppose these days ongoing costs to maintain its presentability would be high.
As @Dstock7080 mentioned, yes - Circle / District / H&C line C Stock. The seats had a yellow + black moquette too. I used it quite a often, when commuting Fulham to central London.Am I remembering correctly that an entire train was wrapped for Yellow Pages at one time? Yeah right... I bet the removed covers are sitting in a corner somewhere ready to go straight back in the condition they were removedIt'll be interesting to see this in January, when the re-fit 09 stock moquette, you'll have one carriage with brand new seating with the rest remaining a disgrace.
