Someone has suggested that we wont be talking about who purchased the ticket. Its just her taking the responsibility of purchasing the ticket as well. But I have no clue how to write it? Will they know at all that who purchased the ticket etc?
You need to start from the beginning with the truth.
As you can see just from what you have posted on the forums they are able to see flaws in your statement.
The guys on this forum are not police nor are they out to get you. They are here to help you.
To do that they need the whole truth.
Who bought the ticket.
Is it actually you involved? Tell the truth it helps these guys help you.
Where did you buy the ticket? From a machine and at which station?
Why did you pick the discount? Was it to get a cheaper ticket?

If you keep on changing the story the forum cannot help you. And the Fraud team looking at your ticket will also know and will probably prefer to prosecute instead of an out of court settlement.

You will not be judged if you tell the truth here.

#35 stated its highly unlikely for them to find out that i bought the ticket. Should She still be writing my name or take the incident on her? And apologise and ask for out of court settlement and what should be the statement of having chosen the railcard when she actually didnt have any

I bought the ticket for my friend for her to get a cheaper ticket, I selected the railcard which we didnt have and she got caught. How to write all this out? #34 said they are unlikely to know who bought the tickets as we pay for our friends, family etc. Should she involve me as well?

I recommend just sticking to the facts. If you’re story is how you tell it, say something like:

‘My friend purchased a ticket for me with a 26-30 Railcard Discount. I then attempted to travel using this ticket, however I do not posses a 26-30 Railcard.’

She can then go on to apologise and follow the usual format of a response letter

Will the next letter be on my name?

Guys check the corrected version

Dear prosecution team,

On 29th October, 2024, I was travelling from Sevenoaks to Gillingham. I left the wallet at her home instead of going back my friend insisted on paying for my ticket, I didnt want her to spend money on me and in order to save a bit of her money I pressed the railcard 26-30 which I didn't have. And later I got checked, upon asked in the train about the railcard as I didn't have it I got extremely terrified.
I travel very less by the train I am extremely sorry for what has happened as part of my mistake. When I came home I saw that the date and month of my birthday is fine but the year is wrong, I immediately called the customer service of trainline, they told me I had to wait for the letter to come. Now I am putting my correct year of birth and attaching a copy of my ID card and UK driving licence.
I am extremely sorry for this incident and I have learnt to be honest and mindful while travelling. I am ready to cooperate in this matter and would request you to please consider settling this matter out of court. I am happily willing to pay the outstanding fare and the train Southeastern's administrative costs in dealing with the matter
I shall be grateful to you for this act of kindness

Kind regards

Ok - I'm not sure it's a clear as it could be and you could implement the suggestion by @chawky to help with that perhaps - so it might be like the below - I hope it's clear what has been replaced / edited and what I have added in in various places - what you say must be true so please check it in that regard:

I travel very infrequently less by the train and I have never ever has done this before in my life. I am extremely sorry for what has happened as part of my mistake. When I came home I checked the paperwork I was given and I saw that the date and month of my birthday is fine but the year is wrong. , I immediately called the customer services of trainline, they told me I have to wait for the letter to come and then I cam correct it. or if you want to use your own explanation more fully I suggest these changes to help with making it clear, but personally I think the first one I am suggesting above is simpler and clearer.

Does this letter needs writing about money paid from friend's card on machine while buying ticket?

No, who bought the ticket and how they paid is largely irrelevant to this specific case. The offence is when your friend was found travelling on an invalid ticket, it’s nothing to do with who or how it was purchased.

On that topic though, your story keeps changing every time. So now you’re saying that your friend paid with their card? I thought they left their wallet at home, and that why you paid for it? Unless you mean your friend’s friend- i.e you??

I recommend adapting the excellent letter above and sending it off. It’s about as much help as people here are able to give and your story is very confusing for people to keep trying to make sense of.

Hi,
I got my prosecution letter on 27th November and replied to my prosecution letters on 1st November . But its been more than 2 weeks, I haven't heard back from them. Not even stating that they received my letter. I tracked my letter and it reached to them on 4th of November. What should I do now? Should I email them with my reply again? Or wait?

Being that it’s only the 19th November today, did you mean to put the 17th November?
