I'm going to London on Monday night and returning Wednesday night from the Isle of Wight (West Cowes)
Monday night I am staying in Wimbledon, Tuesday night by Kings Cross.
Can I just get a bog standard Super-Off Peak West Cowes to London (All Stations) and go via Woking on the way up so I can get off at Wimbledon on the way past?
So basically Southampton > Woking, Woking > London, but getting off at Wimbledon.

Would that be covered as a "permitted route" ?

I'll then just do a standard Waterloo > Southampton on the way back btw.

So as I understand it you will need to pay for Wimbledon-London on day two (Tuesday).

Otherwise, as long as you comply with restriction code BD you can do what you propose, breaking your journey at Wimbledon outbound is fine.

To be clear - there was an implicit extra hop to get into London on the Tuesday that would just be bought on the day. The question was simply about the journey up.

As well as going via Woking to get me on the right line?
Yes, that’s fine, how else would you get there? Southampton-London would pass through/stop at Woking anyway.
You‘re just breaking your journey or stopping short at Wimbledon on the up journey which is fine.

Sorry, yes, I got my head in a pickle - I'd basically just be taking a less efficient Woking > Waterloo train. Now I've stared at the stops it's a bit more obvious - thanks.

Good - Wimbledon was my local station in 1983/4, I used Southampton-Waterloo a lot when I moved to the Portsmouth area in 1984, and I was in Cowes for the first time in ages in September just past. Including the wacky chain ferry.
