507029 in West Kirby sidings has changed its headcode to 5C31, potentially sub
Showing on RTT, looks like it's just going home 5C31 1327 West Kirby to Birkenhead North E.M.U.D

I think 507029 maybe replacing the 777 unit on the Chester line which was involved in the incident at Lime Street earlier today. The 777 was on this diagram which includes 2C31 and Merseyrail service updates confirm 2C31 will be starting in service from Hamilton Square.

Looks like so, it has continued past the depot towards the loop.

Thanks for the update and confirmation.

777 faults on the Chester and Southport lines, with 2 x 777s with faults on the Ormskirk-Hunts Cross line.
Suprised to see the two 507s stabled at Southport (003 & 023) haven't been called up yet to replace the faulty 777s.

777012+14 at Rock Ferry dumped.
777014 was a failure from yesterday (5C48). I think the plan was for 777012 to come and rescue it (I heard it was coupled to it this morning), however following the disruption earlier today, not sure what the plan is next for these units. Could 777012 not be used to replace the 777 which has failed (777025?) on the Chester line today?

Not sure. 777012 was coupled to 014 this morning however it uncoupled when the incident happened. I wouldve thought it would have gone to replace something but it has stayed there

It seems to be working the following (below), perhaps it is going to cover. There is still a diagram on the Chester, Southport and Ormskirk/Hunts Cross lines which requires cover.

Reversed at James Street and headed along the New Bright/West Kirby. Theres a RTT path for it to Birkenhead North so either headed for the depot or to cover a service.

Looks like 012 has gone into North Depot

Not enough Train Managers are trained on 507’s so the spares at Southport can’t be utilised unfortunately. A great day that we have two 507’s in service on one line. Doubt this will ever happen again.

507018 and 507029 have ended up in the sidings of New Brighton and West Kirby respectively following their work on the Chester line today. Doubtful we'll see any action tomorrow but Monday looks promising.

Although 018 struggled at times in the greasy conditions tonight, its acceleration remains outstanding. 029 was simply superb and I think this is the best one left.

I agree. 029 is probably one of the healthiest of the lot

507018 or 507029 should be out tomorrow, No 777’s have been fixed and there is a lacking ratio of 777’s to required diagrams

ive heard that 023 has very low mileage left
This isn't correct. 507023 was only overhauled in October 2022 so could continue for several more years. 507018 is in fact the 507 longest since overhaul by a few months, but it too will have plenty of mileage remaining.

At least two more 777s bit the dust during today: one was 777025 which failed to start its West Kirby diagram from Rock Ferry and ended up at New Brighton, whilst 777036 also gave up on the New Brighton line. The 777 shortage is chronic and reliability dire, make no mistake about it.
