Hi everyone, I am planning to visit Tatton Park in Knutsford but the local Knutsford station isn’t staffed. I know th at under certain circumstances, train companies will book taxis for disabled passengers from the nearest accessible station.
I’ve had a look round, and it seems like Wilmslow station is probably the closest with a full-time staff presence , and this is Avanti , however I was wondering who I should contact for the accessible Taxi , Northern as it’s Knutsford that I want to go to which is managed by them, Avanti as wilmslow station is managed by them or network rail since I’ll be travelling from Birmingham New Street ? I can’t wait till it’s all government owned again.

Knutsford station (which, as you say is managed by Northern) is normally staffed until early evening, isn't it?

P.S. Another staffed station in the general vicinity of Tatton Park might be Altrincham, although Knutsford is by far the nearer.

The Northern website says Knutsford has a ticket office with opening hours for most of the day and Step Free access to both platforms, "https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/stations/knutsford". The guard on the train will assist if required with boarding/leaving the train so all should be OK. If your travelling at a weekend be aware Northern are cancelling a lot of services, on Sundays in particular.

Wilmslow station is managed by Northern. I would contact Northern, as they manage both Knutsford and Wilmslow, as well as operating the train service to Knutsford (and services to Wilmslow too). If you are able to call them, you should be able to discuss your requirements and what assistance they are able to provide at each station and what options may be available. They will also be able to arrange assistance at New Street and any intermediate stations, if you require it.

I'm confused why you would need a taxi - the station is step free, and when station staff aren't on duty, the conductor will put a ramp down to help you off.

Northern aren't going to arrange a taxi in these circumstances.

I imagine you'll change trains at Stockport, which again, is fully accessible.

And Northern is already government owned.

I believe the OP is blind and also requires assistance navigating the station, not just boarding/alighting the train.

It was the request for an accessible taxi which seemed to indicate assistance was required for physical mobility.

Although that obviously makes a bit more sense, however, how will the journey from the station to the park be made, unsupported?

Definitely worth calling Northern, although I'd definitely double check you're ok getting from the station to the park (and back!)

I understood the OP to be wanting to arrange a taxi to collect them at a station and take them to Tatton Park. I didn't know some TOCs arranged this but am happy to be corrected.

(They presumably also require assistance at stations, separately.)
