When push comes to shove, it is the ability of the team players to put the ball in the back of the net of the opponents and howsoever good match planning is by a top manager. it is the ability of the players in the team (all highly-skilled professionals) to fully bring the planning into a successful conclusion. When I held the position of Senior Head of Projects at the consultancy, all the motivation that I gave in team talks was only as good as the ability of mu under-managers to then give successful presentations that brought in new project work.

It's only last season that the Northern Premier League, Premier Division, lost a north-east club when Marske United could not fulfil their fixtures and had that season's results expunged. I hope that Blyth don't end up going down the same road.

Bottom of the table and their next two home games now confirmed as postponed (this Saturday v Gainsborough Trinity and next Tuesday v FC United). Doesn't look good.

When we (Stockton Town FC) played Blyth very recently, Blyth Spartans fans were organising a boycott of the club. Apparently not happy at the way the club was being run. According to anecdotal evidence most Spartans fans went to Blyth Town to watch their game & the few remaining fans walked out at half time.
Blyth Spartans issued a statement on their website.

On todays match, Stockton beat Mickleover 3-0 & are now 4th on goal difference above Guiseleu, Hyde & Ashton.

Hyde United 3 ... Workington 2

An attendance of 665 saw Hyde take an early lead only for Workington to level not so long afterwards and Hyde took a 2-1 lead before half-time. Workington again levelled the scores mid-way through the second half and it was a last minute goal that saw Hyde win the game. Hyde move up to 6th place in the league table with tis win.

A second win for the Gingerbreads. It wasn't a good game, but the win was vital for Grantham. The result keeps them in the bottom four unfortunately.

Scunthorpe's poor form continues, with a goalless draw at Chester, to make it 3 draws and a defeat in the last 4 league games, plus the FA Cup exit to Guiseley. Somehow, they are still a point clear st the top, but they do have a bit of a safety margin of a game in hand.

It's normally only ever a cautionable offence, so a player sent off for 'delaying the restart' must, presumably, already have been "on a yellow card" for something else.

It was OK to be honest. The biggest problem was looking directly into the sun when the action (haha) was in the left hand goal. My partner and I had been in Wells-Next-The-Sea on Thursday and Friday nights, which was lovely, so the football was a diversion on the way home. One of my kids came down on the train and came back with us. He wasn't impressed with his hour in Boston waiting for us to get there!

If that's the case, the decision is plain wrong. George was over two yards from the ball, not looking at it, not trying to block the free kick, the Boston player taking the free kick wasn't ready, and one of his teammates was directly in front of the ball. But, division 5 games get division 5 refs, unfortunately

George had previously been booked for kicking the ball away, so I suspect that if the second booking was indeed for delaying the restart then the ref booked him because of a perceived reputation

According to the FC Halifax Town website's match report, Adan George was sent off for two cautionable offences, the first was delaying the restart by kicking the ball away and the second, late on, was for dissent.
