Sounds like my pub rock listening years in Ashford which included many versions of Smoke On The Water, a memorable group doing sea shanties (long before folk became fashionable again) and a band named Byshops Fynger,cunningly named after one of the local brewery's most excellent ales (still available from Shepherd Neame establishments btw)

The 80s were amazing for rock/metal..my 1st gig was Monsters of Rock at Donington 84.....ACDC, Van Halen and Ozzy ( special guest ) Accept, Motley Crue, Y+T ..Gary Moore......now that 1 day (for me) eclipses anything that Download has done since over 2/3 days. I was 15 and got drunk drinking cider on the coach down from the North East, i remember we pulled into a services and the whole place was heaving with rockers on their way to the show
I should add...Thin Lizzy, Lynyrd Skynyrd, GnR and The WHO to my list

Unlike some of my mates i think The Final Frontier album is one of Maidens best!! I`ve looked at the setlist from shows on the current tour and it ticks all my boxes lol...If you are not aware i believe Airbourne are supporting so should be a great night given Airbourne`s rather ACDC style

I believe Trivium are supporting them in London due to airbourne playing a rearranged gig postponed last year which is good news for me since I prefer Airbourne.

Early December in Brum? If so I was at that gig (marking the first time I saw Maiden)
From what I've heard it's going to be half and half between classics and the new album rather than playing the entire album in order as they did with A Matter of Life and Death (aside: I never knew true love until hearing Aces High live )

Yup that is correct early Dec in brum and the same as you first time i saw them. I do know the set list One song i want to witness live is Aces High.

But best song live i've heard was Fear of the Dark at Download 2007 was just so fantastic.

I was at the Bob Dylan concert in the 1960's at The Free Trade Hall in Manchester when Dylan made the change, in the second half of the programme, from folk to rock, which led a person on the front row to shout JUDAS at the top of his voice. This person and many others walked out of the concert, to the astonishment of Dylan.

I am pleased to announce that a few years back, when going to pick my brothers up from a Metallica concert, one of the stewards in the foyer offered me a ticket to go in and see the rest of the gig, and I turned it down!

I could hear it well enough from the foyer, and in all honesty, talking to the stewards was a much better way of passing the time, than listening to the music (are you able to call it music, or is it closer to shouting and banging?!!)

As for what ive been to see. Well, i will probably be mistaken for being 20yrs older than i am, but hey, decent music is timeless!
