What is the issue?
HD06, which is on exam, has been taken into service instead of HD02.What is the issue?
That's a pretty hard mistake to make.. unsure how you mix the two up! They're both very different looking sets!!HD06, which is on exam, has been taken into service instead of HD02.
Seems there was confusion as 67022 was showing as attached to HD02 but i reality is attached to HD06.
Well maybe for someone who knows what set looks like what. Most drivers are not into trains to that level. That's a pretty hard mistake to make.. unsure how you mix the two up! They're both very different looking sets!!

I thought 'Not to be moved' discs were designed to mark trains not in service.....
I do not know if there is a process they’re expected to follow to check both the loco and the coaches as I don’t go anywhere near them.
67022 & set HD06 have been on Canton since Friday, seems strange if it was on exam it wasn’t marked withWell maybe for someone who knows what set looks like what. Most drivers are not into trains to that level.
I’m quite enthusiastic about them (hence why I’m here) and I wouldn’t know what colour what set is in truth.
If they’re told there’re taking HD02 + 67022 and they see two rakes of coaches, one has 67022 and the other has 67020 on the front then I can very much see how they’ve taken the one with 67022 attached even if it is the wrong rake behind it.

Sort of, but not quite.I thought 'Not to be moved' discs were designed to mark trains not in service.
No to be moved boards are places on trains that are not to be moved.67022 & set HD06 have been on Canton since Friday, seems strange if it was on exam it wasn’t marked with
Do not move boards ?
Indeed, there are a whole host of questions relating to the physical marking of trains not ready for service, authority to do so and to release, identification of trains to be taken, assembling trains...Sort of, but not quite.
... ...
Very hard to say what’s happened exactly.
no, just trains not to be moved - for any reason at all. One example: when water tanks were refilled at stations (even on long distance trains through Birmingham New St) from a pipe at ballast level whoever was doing it would put a 'Not to be moved' board on the platform side of the train before getting down and connecting the hoses. Obviously to prevent the hoses being ripped off by a move before the job had been completed.I thought 'Not to be moved' discs were designed to mark trains not in service.
No was nothing planned to swap, 67022+HD06 was planned on exam until today.Should the locos have been
Changed on the sets ?
Heavy or light exam? Also, may I recieve the diagrams for tomorrow? Would be much appreciated.Tomorrow HD05 is needed to finish in Crewe for an exam so the 16:49 and 17:14 departures from Cardiff will swap sets.
Only a light, should be back by Sunday/Monday.Heavy or light exam? Also, may I recieve the diagrams for tomorrow? Would be much appreciated.
DB Cargo were called to fix the issue with 67025 but got called off and somebody else fixed it instead which resulted in finding another fault which meant calling DB back in againNo was nothing planned to swap, 67022+HD06 was planned on exam until today.
Seems to have started with a paperwork error and snowballed from that. Getting the set prepped and ready was one thing but allowing it to leave off a different road to the "real" rake and enter service will be a concern and I'm sure this rather bizarre incident will lead to some extra safeguards going in so whatever went wrong can't take place again.

This morning 67025 failed at Crewe with a sander fault, that locos now gone onto HD01 on exam, swapping with 67015 on HD03.

Yes 017 is also at Canton as the recovery loco
Hopefully it lasts tomorrow, after that all 7 sets are able to take a break and give time for exams and for the 67s to all be looked at, hopefully it'll last into next week. How is 029 doing?67017 and 022 are heading back light engine to DB for attention due to fuel leaks.
As loco availability is so bad, 67010/012/017/020/029 are all under attention at Crewe IEMD for various faults and 67013 also there on exam that 67027 from Colas is back on hire to act as the Rescue and recovery loco.
67010 is due back to go onto HD04 to keep 4 takes in service tomorrow.
Definitely, the poor performance/availability has gone for long enough, especially after the good month before.Hopefully it lasts tomorrow, after that all 7 sets are able to take a break and give time for exams and for the 67s to all be looked at, hopefully it'll last into next week. How is 029 doing?
Good to see it has it's long awaited wheelset. Any clues to how long it'll still be out? I personally want to see her back out dragging some sets!029 is on newly overhauled bogies/wheelsets and is now receiving further attention to the engine.

Not sure on that one I'm afraid. It's currently being worked on so hopefully won't be too much longer.Good to see it has it's long awaited wheelset. Any clues to how long it'll still be out? I personally want to see her back out dragging some sets!![]()
Thanks as always, hoping for a quick return with the 67s in their current state...Not sure on that one I'm afraid. It's currently being worked on so hopefully won't be too much longer.

Could I also have tomorrow's diagrams? Very helpful. Saw HD02 not too long ago. Might spot another tomorrow. Would be well appreciated.
What I do not understand with this fleet is that even minor exams appear to be done in the daytime, rather than overnight like virtually every other fleet. Major exams are different of course.Tomorrow should be:
67020+HD02 1W11 1V37 1W96
67015+HD03 1V91 1W57 1V46 1W65 1J76

67014+HD07 1V31 1W55 1V42 1W96
67025+HD01 Major exam at Crewe
67008+HD05 Minor exam at Crewe
No 67 with HD06 at Canton
