Now the 458/4s have started to enter service, has there been any news about when the last two 707s are due to move over to Southeastern?

The 707s are diagrammed Tuesday to Thursday next week but not Friday, so that appears to be correct.

Why not remove the 707 ramps completely? Unless SWR expect that one day, the 707s might come back because nobody knows when their replacement 701s are coming?

You’ve listed 3 lots of diagrams there? Also assume 2J13 0653 Hampton Court - Waterloo should be 2J12?

Edit: just reread your post stating that there are now 3 8.450 on suburban. Doh!

Thank you for this information. I guess one of the 8-450 comes from next weeks new 8-458/4 diagram (2R03 etc) freeing up one pair of 450. I am intrigued as to where the second pair are coming from? Perhaps a current 8-450 diagram is going over to 8-455? Recently, there does seem to be a constant erosion in the number of 455 diagrams so I would be surprised if they gain new work. In addition, something is going to have to replace the 707 diagram when it finishes. No doubt it is quite a complex rearrangement involving five fleets over the next few weeks (450, 455, 458/4, 458/5, 707).

I guess there's been a little bit of slack in the 450 diagrams as the 458/4 diagrams have ramped up.

It is also now possible to allocate some selected 701 diagrams as some crews are now trained. But would need to be be very careful allocating staff at this early stage of completed training. But of course will be more and more crews trained as move through late summer and into Autumn.

But of course also had to be careful with the crews for remaining 707 pair (ends Thursday) as some staff have expired competencies. Similarly trained crews for 4car 458s are not universal.

And there's still a pair of 455s on a Reading diagram during both peaks and evenings, plus all day at weekends. Seems a strange choice to instead put 450s on the inner suburban out of preference when in the past it's been acknowledged that they have time keeping issues due to the slow door operation. Obviously I realise that once Reading goes fully 450 there's not a lot of choice other than to move 450s to inner suburban work.

Just this minute seen this westbound on the A3 at Tolworth.


Edited at 15.07: I am told this is actually off to Kilmarnock for corrosion repairs.
