Signalling disruption between Doncaster and York - 14/05/24

I’m on a northbound LNER between London and York. Stuck way down the route because of signal issues between Doncaster and York. Any further info on what’s going on?

Edit: Complete block on all lines between York and Doncaster, NR staff hoping to clamp points and implement emergency special working
Signalling lost between Moat Hills and Shaftholme Jn

Another edit to pacify being corrected time and time again: One TOC is saying cable theft, others stating signal fault

It’s not cable theft, it’s a fuse that’s blown, but module has melted as well.

I have just seen that, don’t know why they are saying that’s, as XC and LNER from the outset have said ‘fault with the signalling system’.

I see at Peterborough they are letting the Leeds services through, overtaking the York services. Could they keep the queue onto the slows so that the suburban Thameslinks and Leeds/Harrogate/Skipton/Bradford services can overtake?

In theory this works I think. We've been handily placed on the initial part of the down slow, while trains stopping are passing into 2 and 5

In theory this works I think. We've been handily placed on the initial part of the down slow, while trains stopping are passing into 2 and 5

Everything still suggests signal fault, blown fuse in a location cabinet, which has also melted the holder so not a quick fix.

Still not seeing anything regards cable theft (but if it’s northern or TPE) depends what delay code they are using.

Interesting that the LNER advice on the NRE website says services via Leeds are unaffected, while at the top of the page it says services are affected to Bradford Foster Square. Mistake, perhaps?

Only 1 signal section on the slow before the platform, although they are now letting 1S30 forward so 1S31 can pull into the station.

A Hull Trains service to Beverly has also diverted at Doncaster (skipping Selby) to avoid the single line working section.

Terminating the Leeds extensions at Leeds, releases crew to divert 2 services via Micklefield.

One addition Leeds to York and 1E25 via Micklefield.

So that message comes from TPE, so do not know where they have got cable theft from, as all Comms as I have said has been signal fault.

So, they are looking for possibilities of cable theft, but, still, everything points to a blown fuse.

However attempted cable theft is still not confirmed.

Emergency Special Working now in place.

You will have been held as timescales may not of been known, can’t hold you at Grantham or Newark as Blocking platforms, so Peterborough better option rather than having you sat in middle of countryside in a loop or slow line.

Plus you wouldn’t have got any further by being moved further ahead, as you are waiting behind 1S28 and 1N29 to pass through the area.
