Its part of the eureka museum thingy for kids.
It's been there some time.
Ironically, it's more comfortable stock than the 14xs and 155s passengers have to use!

In my defence it was my first time to Halifax! I'm on a north country rover, was on my way to Preston to get a pendy to Carlisle, then returning on the s&c
Northern, as well as others, spent £30,000 on repairs, restoration and repaints on the vehicle. Am I right in thinking it has Class 158 style seats inside??? I would go and have a look, but £9.95 just to see it is a bit expensive...
Sorry - I wasn't criticising you - simply just adding a bit of information.
Hope you enjoyed your Rover.
Some wonderful Pennine scenery around Halifax and the Calder Valley.

Never been that way myself but Google Images yeilds results! (for once). Is it just me, or does that mark 2 look too short?
Looks just fine to me. All features of a mark 2 present and correct, and in the right proportions. Is it just me, or does that mark 2 look too short?
It has standard Mk2a seats inside with Northern moquette, I saw a photo online of the interior but I can't remember where. Either way, its better than the stuff out on the mainline.Northern, as well as others, spent £30,000 on repairs, restoration and repaints on the vehicle. Hmmm a sign of things to come? Is this what loco-hauled carriage services may look like when Northern finally succumb to ridiculous overcrowding on busy routes and are forced into bringing back unused carriages on loco-hauled relief services.
In a strange way I almost feel sad that the shunter won't get a run-around with its carriage as it faces the prospect of a lifetime trapped on a tiny section of track like a caged bird.
