I can definitely see Liam moulding the team into one that can play his football, given a couple of transfer windows and a bit of money. We're not a sacking club, so I'm sure he will be given time, but money? Not a chance.

That's the Championship for you unfortunately... non parachute teams have the option of bending the FFP rules and getting promoted before any sanctions can be applied, or staying within FFP and struggling. Huddersfield are very much in the same boat, our squad is low on numbers and goals, so Moore seems to be concentrating on keeping things tight and trying to nick the odd point here and there. Hopefully there will be room for a little investment in January, though I'm not confident that our new American owner has the right people in place to spend his money wisely.

The new TV deals for the Premier League have been announced. Sky have 5 of the blocks with TNT having the other block including their usual Saturday lunchtime game & some midweek games. No games have gone to streaming services like Amazon. BBC retains its highlights packages. The new deals include more Sunday televised games & all games on final day to be televised as well.

Paul Heckingbottom is expected to be sacked this week with Chris Wilder named as a possible successor.
Michael Duff has been sacked as Swansea manager.
Tony Mowbray has been sacked as Sunderland manager.

I think the Blades sacking Heckingbottom (who I despised at Leeds) is a mistake. It will cost them financially, any incoming manager won’t be able to turn it around so will get sacked and then next season they’ll want someone exactly like Heckingbottom to get them back out of the championship. If it’s Wilder, he will just trash his reputation getting them relegated.

I’m surprised at Michael Duff, Swansea were one of the better teams at Elland Road this season.

Nations League rather than European Championship. So Republic of Ireland will be promoted to League A which will give them a better chance of qualifying for Euro 2025.
At half time, England are beating Scotland 4-0, which as it stands puts them top of the group and keeps the chance of Team GB at the next Olympics alive.

Despite scoring a 5th goal just after half time, England only managed the 6th goal very near to the end. They lost their chance of Team GB at the next Olympics, as Netherlands managed to score their decisive fourth goal near the end of their game.

Watched the tame first half of Sheffield United and Liverpool in which Liverpool were 1-0 up thanks to Van Dijk, then swapped to watch the whole of the Villa / Man City game which is 0-0 @ half time but really is a cracking end to end game which I'm sure will have goals in the second half.
