I was watching this, but not really watching it if you know what I mean. Saw at full time there were 6 added minutes. They were still playing after 10+ added minutes..... and I'm assuming this was without VAR.

I was the same, watching the ladies from the south beat Hungary 1-0 in Dublin.
They've won 5 of 5 in the competition, but wasn't impressed tonight.
Yes without VAR. There was an incident, Stockdale the York keeper handled outside the box and the ref produced a yellow card. With VAR it could well have been a red card decision!

Yes of course. I've been to many home games this season and we almost always nearly have a full stadium so we are the most attended in our league. We'll see how today's game goes after our 1-1draw away in the week...

No VAR and a player required treatment during stoppage time hence the extra added time
Sunderland despite their erratic form, easily have the highest average home attendance in the Championship this season, followed by Leeds.

A cracking game, with another frantic opening few minutes with 3 goals scored in the first 8 minutes. All the goals were in an end-to-end first half, luckily Leeds showed a bit more discipline and maturity in the second half, slowing the game down and simply not letting Middlesbrough have the ball, with them trying to hit us on the counter-attack and us then doing the same to them. It's nice to enjoy going to Elland Road again after a dismal couple of seasons.

We are not the largest by capacity in our league but the % of seats we fill is nearly the highest! I've never been to a league game that less than 30,000 attendance, we also took more than 3500 supporters to Sheffield Wednedday last Wednesday. Not even all PL teams manage to fill their stadium fully.

I'm from Leicester, my god never have i read so much rubbish from people about a sense of entitlement on where the club belong.... Problem is many fans i know that are season ticket holders from the recent glory years and the dark days of the early 80s disagree!!

Just seen the standard of refereeing in the Premier League get even lower., thanks to Simon Hooper

It was horrendous. He actually did the difficult bit really well, in that he took a second when Haaland was fouled and saw City had the ball and played advantage. But blowing up when Grealish was clean through was inexplicable.
The new TV deals for the Premier League have been announced. Sky have 5 of the blocks with TNT having the other block including their usual Saturday lunchtime game & some midweek games. No games have gone to streaming services like Amazon. BBC retains its highlights packages. The new deals include more Sunday televised games & all games on final day to be televised as well.

Paul Heckingbottom is expected to be sacked this week with Chris Wilder named as a possible successor.

Both having recently failed to beat a decidedly underwhelming Huddersfield Town (we've averaged around 25% possession in our last four games).
We've got Bristol City at home next who have recently changed managers, so probably won't get the hat-trick...
My theory is he caught the word "offside" in his ear from an assistant (they often say "possible offside" at key phases of play) or VAR and brought the play back in error as he thought City's advantage had vanished. I think overall it is one of the more forgivable human errors I've seen although it is a glaring one. City got done there.

Of course he was onside, but it does happen quickly and they do say “possible offside” at every through ball. I’ve heard all the VAR audio in past incidents and it sounds like a cross between air traffic control and infantry busting into a house. It’s a bit hectic and to be honest very information-saturated.
I’ll be quite honest in that I think that was an outstanding piece of play by Haaland; I did not actually foresee him regaining his balance, or possession, or playing a through ball leading to a goal scoring opportunity at the time of the foul.

For making one mistake? If that is to be the case, then Erling Haaland should be sacked by Man City for missing an open goal.
The abuse Simon Hooper received, both on the pitch (the utter fury on Haaland's face is almost, but not in the case of footballers, unbelievable) and since on social media is an absolute disgrace.

I can definitely see Liam moulding the team into one that can play his football, given a couple of transfer windows and a bit of money. We're not a sacking club, so I'm sure he will be given time, but money? Not a chance.

Draw was a the fair result but dutty leeds just about shaded it - Boro look a little naïve at the back at times.
Great fullback for the mighty Darlo. 126 appearances for us. Doesn't seem to have had a fair crack this season. best players sold and not replaced.
Started at Darlo ( his father was in the RAF based locally) but released - often seen as "one who got away" by our fans. He played in the top 8 tiers of English football - Southern League to Premier League.

Its a strange one and no mistake.
Took over a newly promoted team with minimal reinforcement and nearly got them to the playoff final, and 9th this season and a win off the playoffs. Possibly paying the price for massive overachievement last season, possibly for something behind the scenes which has been alluded to by people well placed to know.
The players loved Uncle Tony too
All they need now is a manager who doesn't command a massive wage, continue to develop young players, take a largely league one squad and get them into the premier league. That'll be easy then
Lots of talk of Steven Schumacher from Plymouth, although given the Sunlun approach to player recruitment somebody nobody's ever heard of from a. far-flung corner of Europe is more likely. (Although "anyone as long as it isn't Steve Bruce" would be a good start)

They are going to replace a no nonsense, championship experienced manager with a "head coach" of limited experience.
