We cant - we HAVE to get some points.Expect zilch, then anything more is a bonus! The Darlo v Rushall Olympic fixture, however, is a real "six pointer", even at this stage of the National League North season.
More important are the 2 home games this week v Warrington & Rushall. 4 points needed from those games. 6 would be better!
that is what coin does for you. Thier owner has signalled a desire to sell up so things may change there. In fairness it seems a very poor league this season. it seems a poor league and we are third bottom...................What must rankle with you is that South Shields are currently in second place in your league.
We cant - we HAVE to get some points.
We have brought in Akwasi Asante from Chesterfield who looks like a unit.
he scored a hattrick for Chester v Darlo on his debut! He has a good record but also a record of injury. I am hopeful IF he is fit we will score more goals.A mate of mine who supports Chester really rated Asante when he played for them.
Not sure about that.Tell you what, Belgium might be a dark horse for the cup.
Stand to be proved wrong of course, but I'm going for a Germany/Belgium final. Not sure about that.
Think they had their chance in 2018.
Spoilt for choice tonight.Stand to be proved wrong of course, but I'm going for a Germany/Belgium final.
A proper use case for AI at last! Can anybody translate the contents of Dion Dublin’s mind into coherent English?
No idea who it was but I'm interested in what was said.Who is he the Channel 4 commentator who spent all the first half spouting the worst xenophobic rubbish that I have heard for many a long day?
Looks like it was Dion Dublin. No idea who it was but I'm interested in what was said.
I suppose a benefit of watching Northern Ireland is that your expectations are low so you rarely suffer disappointment. Anything other than a defeat is a victory. You must be cock-a-hoop this morning…. and the home team V Denmark all on the goggle box, I guess it's Windsor Park for me.
Put it like this, that in his mind the referee was not of the quality needed and this carried on until the very end of the match. When the penalty was finally awarded against the English full back, he just prattled on about the incident being nothing of note and I can well imagine if he carried that way of thought as a prospective referee in training to referee at the highest level, he most certainly be the first to be thrown off the course. The second half comments made by him were even more xenophobic.Looks like it was Dion Dublin.
I didn't watch that match, what was he saying?
When the penalty was finally awarded against the English full back, he just prattled on about the incident being nothing of note
Hadn't thought of that.Over the many years, when a hand of an opponent catches the face of another players, either by accident or intent, there is always the danger to eyesight that can be caused by a much lower level of contact force that can be caused by leg contact to parts of the body.
Swings and roundabouts.
The penalty that was given probably shouldn't have been, but the one that wasn't given (Maguire shoving the attacker in the back having stumbled over his own feet; ref didn't give it and VAR didn't ask the ref to review) absolutely should have been.
I wonder if between the two incidents happening the VAR had another look at the Maguire incident and by the time the second one occurred the ref was aware North Macedonia were "owed" a decision in their favour??
But Dion Dublin.....a fount of nonsense. Apparently it can't be a foul because the defender wasn't looking at the bloke he fouled, and on another occasion it can't be a foul because he didn't mean it. I'm all for having a range of pundits to keep things fresh, but they should at least having a fleeting acquaintance with the laws
He didn't fend him off, he jumped to head the ball clear and used his arms to gain elevation.I don't think the referee liked the fending off of an opponent by a hand in the face, even if with no intent or force. I don't like it and I don't think continental referees like it.
Omnioculars? Will we ever see the day that instead of VAR, each stadium in its seating area will have a "box of electronic gizmos" at each seat that has buttons to press that will register the views on incidents of the watching fans, with a majority verdict being the final decision. Many fans seem to believe in their own version of the rules appertaining rather than the officially accepted one.
Depends on the angle.I agree re the Rico Lewis pen, joke.
Maguire, my initial reaction was actually pen, when I saw the replay I wasn't sure either way, seen them given seen them not given but certainly a stronger case than the one actually awarded.
The ref however was very poor and looked completely out of his depth running a game at that level.
That shouldn't take away from the standard of the team's performance though because we were very poor.

Fending off would be deliberately blocking the player from accessing the ball. He didn't do that, the striker and Lewis both tried to win the header, Lewis was stronger, timed his jump better and was in a better starting position to win the ball.
Ridiculous decision.
I think that photo just proves my point.Depends on the angle.
England U21 for meAnothèr good choice of games on TV tonight: The South v New Zealand, Wales v Turkiye, & Greece v France. After they put 14 past Gibralter last week I'll certainly see some of that game and maybe the Dublin one.
Who are they playing?I think that photo just proves my point.
Lewis is ahead of his opponent, has made the clearing header and his arm is used a leverage for his jump.
The striker never had a realistic opportunity of winning the header.
It's a shocking call by the VAR but then an even bigger cop out by the ref to give it.
