Blast I see TP09 has jumped onto TP07s diagram.

Looks like I might be crashing out in Scarbados !.

But if TP07 gets back on a service I might well cross it on my way to Scarbados by bus.

EDIT 14:20
Could TP07 take over was TP09 was going to do ?.

You'll have to see if it comes off Scarborough TMD at 15:35, but it currently looks like 68028 + TP07 is done for the day.

However it'll mean 3 sets at Scarborough overnight, and a strong position for the morning.

EDIT: Hadn't seen the post about P1 being OOU. So that's 4 sets there overnight.

Ah, that makes sense- I take it there's no access to the depot at Scarborough without first entering the station and reversing?
No you can only access the depot by reversing in Scarborough Station Platform 1.

There are 2 sets stuck on the depot until such time as the p-way come back to do their visual inspection which I understand should happen in the morning.

68023 & 68029 finish in the station tonight so at least the first 2 off in the morning to Leeds & Manchester should both be 68’s.

Where is Scarborough depot ?. Google keeps steering me to the station !. One bit of info puts it a mile or so from the station. Seamer road mentioned but that is quite long.

Few photo's on the Arriva TrainCare webpage "https://www.arrivatc.com/scarborough/". Depot is over doing it somewhat as it's a fueling point really, the mainline side is open so you see any sets stabled on it from passing trains. From the Seamer Road side it is hidden behind the wall/roof structure as per the photo on the webpage.

The Google map aerial view is out of date but the lines in are represented on the map view.

On bing maps the aerial view shows 68+Mk5 sets stabled. It is basically on the opposite side of the line to the football ground.

I'm looking to do a last trip on them from Leeds to Scarborough around the 13th November. I'd rather book advance ticket as it's cheaper. 1U47 looks like my best bet, so does anyone know if this diagram is relatively consistent as being a Nova 3? If not, I'll just go to York and wait for a 68 on a normal return.

So what has happened to P1?

Apologies if this is covered further back in the thread, but how are these workings routed? Presumably one of the workings takes an unconventional route, as otherwise both would be oriented the same way?

Or is it just a typo with the L/T?
My apologies, yes, a typo.

As far as I'm aware, it isn't "being investigated" - just that the routine inspection wasn't possible due to stabled stock, taking it over the timescale required.

OK cheers.... But as I've thought before, if P1 track is blocked, eg derailment, then TMD is blocked too, along with whatever units are in it. A crossover to the down main would remove that problem.

Thanks for the info. The Postcode points to the South end of the Depot.

Thanks. When I was there it (Steel uprights and wood in between) looks like that is a 20foot (approx) sound barrier.

What I found is Ashburn Road is a good reference point except Streetmap cannot bring it up in a search - other mapping tools might fail to find it via a search.

Ashburn Road runs along the East side of the line and then turns West under the railway. The road is blocked by bollards right by the turn under the railway. There was a reasonable amount of places to park - Probably not on event days. Good place to park if driving. A set was to the North of that bridge and was fully visible and easy to id - you can walk up a grass bank to be level with the tracks. The set South of that bridge is partially visible. I could id it and the other end was visible from a car park for a large shop (Currys iirc) on the Seamer Road.

If driving along the Seamer Road then wake up at Lidl. I walked from Scarborough station and it took about 20-25 minutes.

Peter, does this mean that you’ve got TP07 and cleared them now?

I genuinely admire your dedication!

Yes thank you. Mission accomplished (except for 12802 of course).

It was an ordeal. Very very slow journey North on Thursday due to the weather and then the need to get all the way to Scarborough as TP07 and TP02 were more or less trapped in Scarborough depot. Unfortunately the train Leeds to Scarborough cancelled it was stuck behind an RHTT East of York on its previous journey. My plan had enough time in it to cover the possibility of having to get to Scarborough and back rather than just York. But I got to Scarborough so late a hotel had to replace the overnight coach back from York. That coach was totally screwed afaikt anyway. I got TP07 on the "depot" Friday morning. Lovely weather for walking. Then a nice leisurely bus ride viewing lots of waterlogged fields from Scarborough to Leeds with a loss of about an hour due to two sets of roadworks. Leeds was where I expected there were plenty of coaches and humans to negotiate with. Got a coach back to London from there. Sub 24 hour operation became 36 hours door-to-door but I got a better nights sleep on Thursday night.

Irony was that the previous two sets I got were there to be had as well. Six sets on Friday out East must be unusual ?.

Oh dear, that really was a mission, but I’m delighted it was a successful one.

Yes, six sets is highly unusual. From memory, I think 7 is the record, but that did involve one sitting in Seamer West Sidings for the afternoon!

Indeed I worked out (badly ?) that five four sets - TP02, TP07, TP10, TP12 & TP13 were in Scarborough overnight last night Friday night and will be tonight Saturday night.

EDIT TP10 had sneaked back ECS.

Four sets on both nights, by my calculations.

I can only ascertain that TP09 went West Friday night ?.

And only TP13 out on two return trips to York today Saturday.
68023 + TP09 finished at Longsight after working 1U80.
68021 + TP10 should've worked 1K42 to Manchester but was caped and instead returned across the Pennines as 5K42... would be interested to know why - dare I suggest something trivial - prompting an overreaction from Control - as the train basically ran back via booked route but devoid of passengers.

Ah, I would have overlooked 5K42 as no consist reported.

EDIT
My guess is TP10 went back ECS due to having no available guard maybe.

Does anyone know how long TP01 is likely to remain out of service?
Probably TP01 will be at Wolverton long enough to not get back before the December timetable change when TPE stop using the Mk5s.

Cheers Peter. Guess I should have expected that!!!!
Best you look for options/hope on this thread.

EDIT

It is work on cracks so after it is fixed you might catch TP01 going elsewhere for storage so another set that might need repairs can go to Wolverton. A light loco 68 move to Wolverton could be your possible clue.
