The stranded 801207 definitely won't be reaching Newcastle on time tonight (00:41)

Also just looking around and https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:Y54010/2023-09-20/detailed is saying there's a level crossing failure, I assume this is someone just putting the wrong code in (especially since the outbound has been cancelled due to the wires) or is a level crossing also being annoying?

801207 will not obviously go to Newcastle, once customers are evacuated and it’s pantograph has been cut free/removed then it goes to Bounds Green.

1E27 terminated at Newcastle that balances sets out.

We were held just south of Huntingdon (Fletton Junction) for about 20 minutes before crawling over one of the level crossings in this area

LNER staff have done a very good job at keeping us informed and pointing out helpful connections at Peterborough and Kings X

We don’t know it was the OHL that caused it! Could be a train fault, could be the OHL, who knows?!

IF you was held south of Huntingdon it wouldn't be Fletton Jnc (that's near Peterborough), I'm guessing you was held for the level crossing at 'the Offords'.

Does anyone think instead of Knebworth that 1N35 will take the passengers into Stevenage? Wouldn't Stevenage be slightly more equipped for passenger handling and transfer to a London bound train?

The line ahead was blocked by GTR with no power, believe that’s just about to move and then 1N35 will possibly move into Stevenage.

because platforms 1 and 2 are (or were) out of action with all services on the UP failing to call due to OHl damage. Hence Knebworth to get customers back to London.

All ECML services (including suburban and those via Hertford loop) closed this morning due to "multiple" incidents.... KX Thamesklink also had no trains to my destination!

Any ideas what's going on? Managed to complete my journey via Victoria but that seems like a LOT of cancellations if OHL down at Stevenage is the only problem (serious, I know, but shouldn't stop the suburban trains or Bedford Thameslink)

Stevenage they were still fixing the OHL up to 0730 with like blocks in place.
Up fast services will have high speed coasting.
Unsure why that would impact Bedford Thameslink unless a different issue ongoing.

And just to add to the fun, the A1M is now closed between Stevenage and Welwyn due to an accident - so any rail replacement buses are going to be battling some awful traffic.

Are they actually running any replacement buses? I thought they were just delaying or cancelling everything. Getting a replacement bus for morning peak must be almost impossible,they are all covering the school run.

This picture was posted here of the damage to the OLE at Stevenage. The affected OLE is not a headspan but a single track cantilever, which dates from when the ECML was first electrified on this section.

Somebody jumped off a bridge at Huntingdon earlier too. It was all cleared before the line reopened though.

Ah! So that's why my car journey to Walthamstow (from Norfolk) was particularly horrible this morning!
