Intresting to see the 202 tender been taken up by Stagecoach. I wonder which depot will operate it and what size of bus will be used. A lot of dead miles involved unless they plan on using or extending the daytime 56/201 services.
Overall it seems to be fairly negative service changes but with few improvements on certain routes.
No increased frequencies on the regular network but there's a major contract to shift event attendees from Slessor Gardens outside the rail station to a drop-off point next to the Kingsway. Plenty of double-deckers involved. What's happening in Dundee bus wise, just increased frequencies?
15456-63 are going to East ScotlandWhere are the ex East Scanias going?
The timetable is now on Traveline Scotland. It seems the journeys to Glasgow are up to 10mins earlier?Does anyone know what the changes to the X24 and X27 involve yet?
Boarded a Jet 747 at Ferrytoll at 0408 on Wednesday Morning and it was absolutely rammed - A Single Decker with luggage taking up all the wheelchair space and people standing from end to end on the vehicle all the way to the Airport.
Ironically a double decker had just gone in the opposite direction!!
I think it is possible people could be denied boarding if this pattern is repeated over the coming months.
Wonder if it will ever go back to a twenty minute frequency like it used to be at certain times?
Timetable change to 19 and JET 747 services from Monday 26th June19 May 2023 to 09 Jul 2023
From Monday 26th June, there will be changes to services 19 and JET 747. Also, services 85 and 86 will be cancelled.
19 - We will make minor timetable changes to improve reliability. Also, the route has been revised in Ballingry to revert to pre-7th November 2022 service change. Please see new timetable here.
JET 747 - There will be an increase in frequency from every 30 minutes to every 20 minutes throughout the day. Please see new timetable here
Passengers have escaped without injury after a double-decker bus was destroyed by fire in Dundee.
Emergency services were called to the blaze on a Stagecoach bus on Strathearn Road at about 14:30.
The bus operator said all passengers were safely evacuated. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that there were no reported casualties.
A Stagecoach spokesperson said: "Safety is our priority and we are investigating the circumstances."
Police Scotland said road closures were in place on Strathern Road, Crawford Place, Fairfield Road and at Ralston Road.
While hopefully just a complete coincidence, you would certainly hope this has no similarities to the fire on Lothian’s 11 barely over a week ago. Both Volvo Hybrids and I want to say both very similar mechanically?Volvo B5LH/ADL E400MMC 13042 (SJ15PUX) met a fiery end in Dundee this afternoon whilst on a 73A.

It would be quite reassuring from a passenger perspective to see an investigation, there are hundreds of these running around in London on one body shell or another and other cities too, I think Manchester have some just as an example
Don’t Stagecoach supply a lot of the in-site shuttles at the Royal Highland Show? If so, this is probably causing them to not run them on the X55, which normally happens every weekend.None of the Fife-Edinburgh express routes seem to have any deckers allocated today.
Quite poor planning from Stagecoach today - the Royal Highland Show is still on and Edinburgh Pride is today, yet not a single double decker on the X55. On board an X55 service just now and we've had to leave Rosyth and Ferrytoll passengers behind. None of the Fife-Edinburgh express routes seem to have any deckers allocated today. I find it quite ironic that despite the recent coach shortage, the depots have managed to put a coach on almost every diagram today when decker capacity and vehicles rated for standees would be very beneficial.
Don't think there's any in-site shuttles as such, but they do seem to be focusing on providing duplicates on the 747 (which makes sense, IMO). There was also an event in Dunfermline today which Stagecoach were providing transport for using Rennies' TridentsDon’t Stagecoach supply a lot of the in-site shuttles at the Royal Highland Show? What is B8 and F59?There isn't really a coach shortage at Dunfermline as they use B8; in fact they have the newest coaches in the fleet. With the Highland show, there are at least 6 duplicates running about on top of the 747 normal runs which are mainly decker operated today, so it's not poor planning. However there are no spare drivers run dupes on the Edinburgh expresses.
Come the Edinburgh festival, the only possible solution has to be F59, does anyone know if it is coming back?

Ideally though there shouldn't be as heavy a focus on the singular event, but yes I can understand why a number of deckers are on RHS shuttles. However I do believe a higher number of diagrams should have been operated with deckers today - there are a number not being used which could have been put onto Edinburgh express routes instead of coaches to help with demand, as duplicate runs aren't possible. Though of course I also understand spare deckers may be undergoing maintenance. I took the AB1 back to Fife today as I didn't want to risk the express services being full (and overly hot). There isn't really a coach shortage at Dunfermline as they use B8; in fact they have the newest coaches in the fleet. B8 would be short for B8RLE i.e. Plaxton Panther LEs. I believe the F59 was a special events version of the X59 - it ran during the Fringe for example to provide extra capacity. What is B8 and F59?
The F59 registration was cancelled a few weeks back, so it seems unclear if it will or not.Come the Edinburgh festival, the only possible solution has to be F59, does anyone know if it is coming back?
