HD03 has now completed its proving runs West of Cardiff so it's now at Canton and will tomorrow head to Crewe on

Next week Will see it out between Crewe and Hereford via Chester and Wem then Holyhead and Manchester should follow, after that the 5 cars should be rolled out into service and the extra diagram including the morning Swansea being introduced.

Brilliant stuff. The 1630 made it Swansea again.

There seems to have been a problem though as neither the 13:30 or 15:30 Manchester to West Wales ran from Piccadilly.

Monday was a bit of a blip but even then was nothing wrong with the sets.
Things work better when they're used regularly, they were picking up anyway before the TT. these extra diagrams also give the crews a big uplift in work so familiarity is increasing quite quickly.

Not yet no, the diagrams are in post 2494.

From RTT, the train for the 1530 (175 114) ran progressively later from Swansea and was turned at Wilmslow almost an hour down with the next service on its heels.
175 102, which should have formed the 1430, didn't get beyond Hereford.
The 1330 did run, but was only a 2-car 150.

There's a mk4 set visible on Landore appears to be complete but without loco and a bit grubby, it's not however in bits so to speak. Is this the 5 carriage formation that's been on trial or hd08

The 5 car set (HD03) is in Canton.
Those coaches are likely to be the ones that were pencilled in to become HD08

Sorry if it seems a stupid question but which ends do the 67 locos face?

Albeit diagram 1 failed this morning on Crewe depot.
Would you mind listing which sets have locos facing north and which don't? Doing a bit of spotting tomorrow so it would help - sorry to inconvenience
They change regularly, depending on whether either the morning or evening ECS runs to and from Manchester run via Wilmslow or Warrington. They're timetabled in such a way as to keep them all facing the same way (with the loco at the North end) but there are only a handful of drivers currently competent on the route via Warrington so most of the time it goes via Wilmslow. It's different drivers on the two trips - if one signs Warrington and the other doesn't the set gets turned.

It looks like the early (0530) Swansea to Manchester was a MK4 this morning for the first time!

Fantastic news that, MK4s must look a bit strange in Swansea but a welcome improvement to the situation. I'm hoping tomorrow morning's service turns up with a MK4. If it does, I smell a couple of short notice day returns!

Should be HD01 and 04 out tomorrow, if 04 isn't fixed in time then HD02 Will be on the Crewe Diagram instead.

Such a shame that the NW Coast has lost the day time weekday services and doesn’t have any weekends.

To be fair the nw coast does have the 197s while the south has the vast majority of services being worked by 150s. So personally having the mk4 sets here makes sense on that basis too.

Yes I'd seen the diagrams. But as so many of them get swapped and replaced at the last minute, like 1230 from Manchester today for example, it was a pleasant surprise to see it did infact run today.

I wonder if either of the Sunday diagrams will run. They didn't last week.

Ah ok apologies, read it that you were suprised to see it that's all.

Other than Monday, over 90% of what's booked to be Mk4s has run as one since the start of the month so its a far cry from where we were a few weeks back.

They're certainly planned to be out tomorrow, last week was due to crewing Issues which hopefully won't happen again this Sunday and Monday!

Ah I see, I'm assuming 1W00 would have the loco north-facing tomorrow morning then? Although I've no idea which set it is since RTT is only showing it as a 67+mk4 diagram without any numbers

It's booked HD04 tomorrow which last time. i was on was In reverse formation, with loco at the south end, I'd be inclined to say it still is but I can't 100% guarantee its not swapped somewhere unnoticed in the mean time.

Thanks, will just spot both ends front running for convenience tomorrow then - much appreciated!

It is indeed! Happily on board with my Blue Beauty stowed in the DVT and 67025 up front. For the noise, I've got a seat in the front coach of the ex-GC set :D

Train Manager did announce First Class is declassified, apparently there's no First Class on Sundays, which I was tempted by, but I also wanted to enjoy the noise of the 67.

I did originally plan to do the 1006 to Swansea with a 175, but changed my mind shortly before departure and did some local pleasure cruising before refuelling and giving the ol' girl a good clean.

It's pretty busy throughout the train, and someone on the opposite side of the train to me is timing the train and armed with a speedometer app. If that person is reading this, I hope it was a fun journey :)

Loving the noise of the 67 it must be said! :D I should have not done it, and did something cheaper, but this opportunity could not be turned down!

Temporary I believe. But it does appear to be the case; service appears on RTT as “Standard Class Only” and you can’t purchase first class tickets for that specific train, obviously open tickets you can mind.
