Because Orkney and Shetland are archipelagos of Scotland, which in turn is part of Great Britain. The Isle of Man is a self-governing British Crown Dependency.Question - "Domestic ferry services to outlying islands, such as the Isle of Wight and the Scottish Islands are also acceptable" - is there a reason why, for example Orkney or Shetland would be OK, which are much more remote, where the IoM isn't ?
