Hello

I'm wondering if it's possible to get a discount on a London International (CIV) ticket with a Two Together Railcard. If so, would the railcard have to be presented at the time of purchase (I'm considering delaying the purchase of the Railcard until just before the Eurostar journey to get maximum value from it)?

Also, the same question for London Estar (CIV) tickets, if indeed they are still available (has anyone had any luck recently purchasing one separately to a Eurostar ticket transaction)?

Thank you

You can get a Two Together Discount on tickets to London International (subject to the 09:30 weekday restriction and holding a valid Eurostar ticket). You need to present the railcard and Eurostar ticket when purchasing the ticket.

Sadly, tickets to London Eurostar are no longer available.

...though if you have a flexible ticket you don't need to buy far ahead.

I was under the impression that one does not need to present a railcard when buying a ticket, only to be in possession of a railcard when using a railcard-discounted ticket. Have I got that wrong? Thanks

What was the difference between London International and London Eurostar? Were they not both to the same place (St Pancras)?

Read the terms and conditions, for example https://www.senior-railcard.co.uk/help/railcard-terms-conditions/
2.5. You may be asked to show your Railcard when purchasing discounted tickets.
It just happens that if you buy tickets online there is (currently) no method of presenting a railcard at the time the ticket is purchased. I've always shown my railcard when buying tickets from a ticket office, however it may not be required, but if you're asked for one then you won't get a discounted ticket if you don't show it.

You can buy tickets to London International (for Eurostar) LNE from https://tickets.railforums.co.uk/ and you won't need the railcard for that.

I found that some tickets were not available, as there was a glitch in the data feed. I emailed the support and they sorted it out in a few hours and I was able to buy them.

London Eurostar tickets were only sold by Eurostar UK domestic sales as part of a through booking, and usually cheaper than the equivalent London International ticket.

For example: A Euro Standard Single (EOS) from Bicester North to London International is £35.70 and the Return (EOR) is £39.50.

To London Eurostar, the EOS is £17.30, but there's no EOR.

The method of validating a Railcard online is available but it's only just become available.
