Confirmed 156907 through Evesham around 8 late earlier on at 1128 am. However such a coincidence on the same day that the 321s have final booked workings on the Walton on the Naze to Colchester line. 156907 a ex previously worked Abeillo Anglia unit should go into long term store at Long Marston.
However a rare site at Evesham to catch a 156 going into store though.

This is a shame for me, purely as 407 would be one of the last big handful of 156s I've not had. I have no record of it at least, it's possible I had it nearly 20 years ago but I don't know for sure. However, if it's in terrible condition then it makes much more sense to recycle what's usable and cut one's losses.

No diesel units based at Allerton these days aithough you can still see 150 and 156 on the shed. The depots allocation these days are 319, 323, 331/0 and 769.

I know this is slightly OT, but how come refurbishments for Northern seem to get signed off straightaway; whereas, in EMR’s case, we’re approaching 4 years into its life and we still have no refurbishments on the horizon and/or signed off?

I have seen (I believe) @LowLevel ‘s posts stating that plans are underway for the 158s/170s; but, as I say, lack of refurbishment at EMR has been going on for a huge amount of time.

Is the Northern fleet getting done straightaway because there was a pre-existing refurbishment agreement and authorisation has simply been rolled over to any subsequent incoming stock?

Why have Northern done the digital train mods in this way? I understand the units that were refurbed before digital mods started but units going through the refurb program should get them then instead of later. Have a different contractor for the digital mods? Send them there immediately afterwards. Ridiculous.
