The referendum has concluded and the result is as follows:

Votes cast 15,756
Voting YES 12,047
Voting NO 3,709

The result has been considered by your union’s National Executive Committee, which notes that an overwhelming majority of members have voted to accept the offer.

The NEC has also instructed me to inform the company that we are no longer in dispute with them over this matter.

Your NEC states that your union will continue to engage, scrutinise, and challenge Network Rail’s Modernisation Maintenance programme through the company machinery and the ORR.

I thank you and your colleagues for participating in this democratic process and for the magnificent campaign you have fought during this dispute.

Still ongoing at moment, but not really moving

If look at what the members think they have achieved since 2 most recent strike days were called about 3 weeks ago. Generally will be no move on Terms & Conditions, or pay, and loss of 0.8% of annual income. If losing money for no gain is what the membership think is good way to run their lives, that remains their choice, at least until another vote is called.

If go back 10 months and compare where we are now vs at start of dispute, must be many thinking they have lost about a months pay and virtually nothing has changed. The RMTs choice of action is simply failing to break the deadlock. Personally I am not sure they even have a plan to break the deadlock

Mick Lynch has just said on R4 that the RMT has accepted the NR pay and benefits offer, and the travel benefits, but not the changes in working conditions.
Redundancies at NR are also off the agenda, he says.

Yes. T&C changes have been imposed...at least in the south west &, I am told but can’t confirm, everywhere else with some cajoling in the Glasgow area.

Depends what you consider “original”. It changed several times over the past few months.

Overall it’s good news this is resolved, but of course the TOC dispute is outstanding and might continue to have a considerable impact. But the precedent is there now.

I don't believe that the travel benefits are the same. I'm pretty sure that they won't be getting the same Leisure Cards as any non-safeguarded TOC staff. There was talk of PRIV fares purely being available through the digital app, and no FIP.

It was removed from the national proposal. Extension at a more local level remains a risk.

Has anything changed regarding eligibility to vote or staff numbers? The latest referendum has 18,302 eligible to vote down from 21,053 in the November 2022 ballot (available here).

A drop of 13% over 4 months is pretty sizeable so wondering what's changed, suppose it could be people leaving the union but that seems a really high number of leavers.

Voted no myself, but at least the result is decisive. Not happy with some of the things agreed, but that's life.

Pay dispute comes up again in October. Hope members have been hardened as a result of this campaign for future ones. Was the first strikes since 1994...

At least in the end RMT put it to a vote and its members made their views clear. If they want to push on the TOC front any further they should put the RDG deal to members who can then decide whether the dispute carries on or not.

I thought it was 9.2% to 14.4% depending on salary over 2 years
Only the lower paid are getting what works out at 14.4%

Apparently 76% voted in favour of the offer.

Yes that's my point. People are overselling it to show they they 'beat' the government. Nurses unhappy of course as they've been sold down the river by the RCN for 5%!

Doo wasn’t mentioned in the signallers/maintenance deal. This deal allows a massive extension of doo on a toc by toc basis as they can now go after Aslef with a very large offer to extend/introduce!
