I had an email at 1.10am saying I've been shortlisted and they will be in touch with next stage soon. I'm absolutely cacking my pants!

I had an email from someone at EMR at 01:04 saying that I have been Shortlisted and to wait for an email regarding further information. I do only live a 10 minute drive from Nottingham Depot. I am sorry for people that are unsuccessful but you have to be positive. I too may struggle with tests etc but always think positive! As long as you put in the effort then that is all you can do.

Same, congratulations. Wait and see what's next!
Thank and congrats to u too! I've been told by the last lot that they just took in from internal applications that it will be 1st half of opc assessments next. But they might change it up each time so who knows!

Yep me too on the 23rd! The hotel is just around the corner from Derby Station. Better get my bum into gear with the practice material.

I have now withdrawn my application for this position due to there be lots of Night Shifts which is something I just can't get my body to work around. Would struggle to sleep during day. I do have an application in for a Tram job so will stick with that.

Anything to do with depot working will probably have a lot of nights attached unfortunately

Not driving at Nottingham or derby though, be Lincoln, Boston or Norwich.

I worked nottingham and the shifts weren’t that bad no where near as many night shifts as derby. But even though it’s only a stepping stone for a year or 2 you’ve done right thing if you couldn’t do the shifts, soooo easy to mess up especially when tired :)

Oh that's a shame, but if u know it won't work for u then uve done the right thing.

Derby has majority of their depot shifts as nights. My partner is a mainline driver there and it was quite an adjustment to make, but says u just get used to it. Mainline is a lot better obviously, but got to do your time down the depot 1st. You used to have to have 180 turns under your belt to go mainline but that seems to be out the window now cos they r low on drivers by the looks of it, just runs on seniority when jobs come available.

Having kids at home so would of been tough to sleep during the day and don't want to tell wife to keep taking kids out for day as that just not fair. The person I know does drive out of Lincoln. They travel 45mins in a car to get there for work.

I'm down to attend stage 1 on the 3/3, any advice people have in general?

From the description I think its Group Bourdon, TEA-Occ and the 2 TRP tests. I have been practicing some GB sheets and got some material for the TRP tests, I haven't found any good practice materials for the TEA-Occ. Does anyone know of any?

Traineetraindriverinfo.com
They have some really good practice material for all the tests bar, TRP1
Really good TEA-OCC practice software.

Woohoo! Good luck practice practice practice is the advice ive been given from all the drivers I know.
I found an online GB test, on metodorf.com. I know its not the same as paper version but it's practice to get u used to it none the less.
I havent found any practice bits for the TEA-Occ, apart from one high and low tones recording thing that I think I got off of a forum on here somewhere.
Where have u managed to get thr TRP material?

sorry for the late reply! I have been doing some practicing but also trying not to psyc myself out by dwelling on it too much. I sort of made up TRP material where I read a section of a manual (any manual, don't think it matters) then my partner asks me questions on the section. Not loads of questions, I'm not sure how many there are on the test but I've been doing 5-10. Probably less than the test but it's not easy to come up with the questions!

The split with EMR of only doing the 3 paper tests on the first day has made the build up a bit more relaxed as well to be honest. If I had to think about the computer tests and interviews at the same time I think my head might explode!

I got an email today saying I’d passed also, very happy indeed. Just waiting for the date for the group exercise.

I got a pass too, stage 2 on 20th March!
I think stage two is a look at how u interact with others, people I k ow who have done it have said there are speed interviews, like speed dating but interview questions where u have a minute to answer or something along them lines. Not sure how to prep either!
