no sign of HD06 being out either0645 Cardiff - Holyhead cancelled due to HD04 failing.
Noted HD05 at Llandudno Jn last night, arrived early and left RT.To ensure a set finished in Holyhead, 67013 and HD05 went onto the Crewe-Chester shuttle for a couple of hours before picking up w96 in Chester so HD04 should be ready for w91 in the morning and hd05 Will now be in Holyhead for v91.
Looks like it was cancelled throughout, and the return will be 2x153 from Chester on 1V96 back to Cardiff.0645 Cardiff - Holyhead cancelled due to HD04 failing.
The 17:14 Cardiff to Holyhead is 2x 153s. I looked earlier on.All being well HD04 will be out on 17:14 Holyhead, HD06 if its exam is finished will go out on 16:49 Manchester.
HD02 should begin testing tomorrow but HD07 is confined to Canton with bogie issues.
The OP you are replying to works on these sets so I personally would take their word for it. It was put down for 2x 153s and then subsequently swapped to HD04 to get a set to Holyhead. The 17:14 Cardiff to Holyhead is 2x 153s. I looked earlier on.
Showing as HD04 on Genius, 28L ex Cardiff. The 17:14 Cardiff to Holyhead is 2x 153s. I looked earlier on.
It's not always the MKIVs themselves causing delays. As an example yesterday the afternoon trip to Manchester was 30 minutes late and got turned around at Wilmslow - but this was purely due to delays coming off Canton owing to an operational incident with another TOCs service.Heavy delays on trains that seem to run with Mk4 sets today as all days when they are actually running. Do we know the cause of those?
Have some sets come back from SDO fitting? A quick check on RTT seems to show that there are more out than the last couple of days.
Thanks.
Lots of catching up late services between Manchester and Crewe coupled with unfamiliar crews, which will clearly increase over time.Heavy delays on trains that seem to run with Mk4 sets today as all days when they are actually running. Do we know the cause of those?

There appear to be 3 Mk4s out today.Heavy delays on trains that seem to run with Mk4 sets today as all days when they are actually running. Do we know the cause of those?

Is there any reason the sets can't reverse in the station at Cardiff, like a unit can?Lots of catching up late services between Manchester and Crewe coupled with unfamiliar crews, which will clearly increase over time.
Congestion going on and off Canton is proving a major achilles heel at the moment. The sets can and have kept time but delays do seem to easily spiral at the moment.
Or just reverse in the west side sidings ?There appear to be 3 Mk4s out today.
RTT doesn't give a set number when there is a graphic at the top showing Mk4 train formation (but not identity).
It's noticeable that the Holyhead services perform better than the Manchesters, even when they are the same set, swapped at Cardiff!
Late arrival at Cardiff seems to impede the turnround there, and the turnrounds at the northern end are too short to make up any time for the return trip.
So passengers for today's 1V64 1430 Manchester-Cardiff are in for a sizeable delay unless the set is turned short, as the northbound 1W57 is 33 late at Shrewsbury.
There's a hint of skipped stops in the Marches, as it was 44 down at Newport.
(Armchair control via RTT is easy, though).

I thought the new signalling allowed that kind of working.
Looks to be next to the DVT, in the photos the gold doors for the refurbished GC style first class carriage is between the DVT and catering/buffet carriage. Many thanks for posting the shots @Techniquest, hoping to get to sample the 67/Mk4 sets later this year myself. Is the 1st class accommodation located next to the DVT or is it sandwiched between standard vehicles?

Well I finally got my chance to do some MK4 moves today! I ended up on the very late running 1156 from Hereford with 82201+67015. Non-stop Hereford to Shrewsbury and on an ex-GC set, no complaints there! First time on such a set, and it was very nice. First Class looked nice, but the stench of meat in that coach made me very glad I wasn't using it!
As I type, I'm on another ex-GC set with 67013+82200 on the 1925 from Shrewsbury. I really like this interior, it's so much nicer than the ex-LNER interior!
What have I been up to today that warranted a lengthy trip between TfW trains? Well, there's a trip report coming soon which will explain all!
First Class was next to the DVT with the cafe-bar next to that and 2 Standard Class coaches after that. I have to confess I didn't note the formation on the 1909 from Shrewsbury to Holyhead, which was 67017, which was an ex-LNER set.
The 0627 Piccadilly - Cardiff is 2 153s today...
