The Leadhills and Wanlockhead Railway reaches a higher elevation than Druimuachdar.

I thought that at first - and that was going to be my answer to the question - but then I checked with Wikipedia and it gave the height of the L&WR as 1,403 feet above sea level....whereas Druimuachdar is 1,484 feet.

The L&WR's summit is at 1,498 feet above sea level. It used to be the highest point on the UK standard gauge network, beating Druimuachdar by 14 feet.

No,never one at Wrangaton. There was one between Bishopsteignton and Newton Abbot but what was it called? There are several more to go yet too.

Staying with BR standard locos, 71000 was to be part of the National collection, but then it was decided to scrap the loco, and indeed, it nearly was scrapped.
How did it survive until purchased for restoration?
