Why?What a total waste of money !

They believe Southeastern should get rid of all their fleet and replace it with new stuff, which that is a complete waste of money. Why?
A few years; they entered service in 2000.You may be confused with the 375 which did enter service a few months before Connex ceased operations
Why?

It isn’t optional either.Because livery replacement isn't cheap.
How many times do you need to be told it is a maintenance requirement? The primary purpose of paint is to protect the bodyshel. The money could be better spent elsewhere. Do the general public remotely care about what colour the train is ? Lipstick on a pig springs to mind.
The 376s are up to 18 years old. They need repainting, and it might as well be in the standard current Southeastern livery.Because livery replacement isn't cheap. The money could be better spent elsewhere. Do the general public remotely care about what colour the train is ? Lipstick on a pig springs to mind.
Whilst I appreciate what you’re saying, it’s been explained on here that they often need repainting as they work on things like bodywork corrosion and other similar things. I can’t remember the exact details, but essentially they need to go through repainting for maintenance purpose and so, obviously, would be stuck in the latest livery and not an old one.Because livery replacement isn't cheap. The money could be better spent elsewhere. Do the general public remotely care about what colour the train is ? Lipstick on a pig springs to mind.
Which is bugger all to do with making trains look pretty in blue.
I don't see fleets with any sort of rose tinted nostalgia or want them kept or binned purely based on their age. I am not obsessed with old decrepit trains being kept in service purely because they are only X number of years old.
Everyone wants an upgrade of some sorts. Seat back tables, WiFi, new moquettes, etc. All that could be done with a new fleet. Again, it's lipstick and a patchwork quilt over a turd.
Ultimately it will about money. Nothing more,. nothing less.
Yeah, they've currently got the livery of the 2003-2006 Southeastern franchiseThey’re due a repaint, I can’t think of much else that hasn’t been repainted in that time frame, even if it’s just a base coat for the old livery to be reapplied by vinyl
No they have Connex livery. They were ordered during Connex’s tenure but delivered painted in Connex with Southeastern Trains (2004-2006) painted/vinlyed on the logo area.Yeah, they've currently got the livery of the 2003-2006 Southeastern franchise
Didn't the Connex livery have a yellow skirting near the bottom? As in where the light grey is now, cause the Networkers used to have the light grey as well as the Connex yellow. No they have Connex livery. Well the 375 in Connex livery didn’t have yellow skirting, it has grey as evidenced by this photo:Didn't the Connex livery have a yellow skirting near the bottom? As in where the light grey is now, cause the Networkers used to have the light grey as well as the Connex yellow.
Only on the slam door trains and I think, the Southeastern 365's and 465's from memoryDidn't the Connex livery have a yellow skirting near the bottom? As in where the light grey is now, cause the Networkers used to have the light grey as well as the Connex yellow.
319s, 455s and 508s also wore that livery.Only on the slam door trains and I think, the Southeastern 365's and 465's from memory
