Any update on rail replacement buses at Newcastle? I will be arriving there in an hour and hoping to get to Alnmouth. There's a service bus at 21:28 but it takes two hours.
LNER are running one train at 2000 Newcastle to Edinburgh calling Morpeth, Alnmouth, Berwick and Edinburgh.

Thanks for the info, it's a shame I don't get there until 20:36 !

Hopefully that will of swept up a lot of the people queuing for the busses
Yes, hopefully. Not sure why they couldn't have turned back some services at Berwick if the problem is at Grantshouse.

There was OHL issues at Berwick station, it was isolated for several hours due to sparks coming from the wires.

Looks like northbound open, a Tyne Yard to Millerhill freight gone through and an additional Newcastle to Edinburgh has passed the scene

I travelled to Newcastle today for a weekend away.

Large queues of passengers at Newcastle station waiting for buses. The 13:47 Lumo service was announced as operating to Edinburgh from platform 5. Went and took a look just before the scheduled departure time and it was full and standing. It was subsequently cancelled.

Staff doing their best in difficult circumstances.

The additional is the only passenger service to run this evening, 5mph past the affected area.

The previous pictures were in daylight yesterday. By dawn this morning the line had reopened.
