"There's 4 Grand Central sets, HD04-HD07"
There is also HD08 too
12215, 12526, 12308, 10305, 11316, 82204
There is also HD08 too
12215, 12526, 12308, 10305, 11316, 82204
HD08 is an additional ex-lner set and some of the coaches were originally as spares, its not an ex-Grand Central set."There's 4 Grand Central sets, HD04-HD07"

Ah sorry, my mistakeHD08 is an additional ex-lner set and some of the coaches were originally as spares, its not an ex-Grand Central set.
CorrectI think 82200, 82201, 82227, 82230 are the 4 DVTs.
I hope there is a VSTP put in for tomorrow, as I'd really like to see it out this week!Correct
Looks like the set swap this week to and from Holyhead/Crewe isn't happening, both shown as cancelled so presume some issue or other on HD05.
HD01 replaced HD02 yesterday due to a fault but even at that stage that was meant to be temporary so not sure what happened or what the plan is now but looks unlikely it will be out on Monday
Very minor detail, but I can't help but feel it would be a little neater if there was symmetry in which way round the Welsh and English go - i.e.It's not exactly the same. Doors will go red, the orange stripe will be replaced with a red one, but logos at the end rather than in the middle. Also a red stripe along the top of the carriage I believe. The ex LNER sets will be repainted aswell.
Definitely won't be one tomorrow. We don't have any spares to prep or drive it on a Sunday.I hope there is a VSTP put in for tomorrow, as I'd really like to see it out this week!
Makes sense, it is a real shame though. Here's to next week!Definitely won't be one tomorrow. We don't have any spares to prep or drive it on a Sunday.

Potentially, however I'd say unless someone can confirm from the internal, we'll have to wait and see what happens!Ah makes sense
Maybe the 0533 HHD to CDF would be the 1052 Manchester

No. See post 1565. It never left Crewe on Saturday for some reasonIs 67020 still entering service today![]()
Correct, the work still hasn't taken place.Just watched this mornings run to Hereford leave Crewe - GC coaches, TfW livery 67. Is there any reason they are routing via Wrexham and not through Nantwich, Prees etc? Are they not yet cleared down there?
Is this the work which will be taking place 15/16/17th November when Crewe - Shrewsbury is blocked?Correct, the work still hasn't taken place.
Yes that is right, confirmed by station staff at Hereford today. Apparently, it is Whitchurch that they're working on, unsure of any other points. Is this the work which will be taking place 15/16/17th November when Crewe - Shrewsbury is blocked?
Is this the one where the platforms were apparently scraping trains? I find that hard to believe, if it's true though, what set did it happen to, and how did they deal with repainting?Yes that is right, confirmed by station staff at Hereford today. I did find it a bit strange that the Crewe - Shrewsbury via Nantwich line wasn't cleared for MK4s considering it's the key diversion route when something goes wrong via Wrexham.Yes that is right, confirmed by station staff at Hereford today. With only three services a day in each direction*, it was probably thought to be easier to terminate the MkIVs at Chester or Shrewsbury and get passengers on the next DMU service in the event of any prolonged disruption.I did find it a bit strange that the Crewe - Shrewsbury via Nantwich line wasn't cleared for MK4s considering it's the key diversion route when something goes wrong via Wrexham.
It had to have replacement parts on the suspension where it caught the platform. Wasn't high enough up the side to anything to the bodyside. Is this the one where the platforms were apparently scraping trains? I find that hard to believe, if it's true though, what set did it happen to, and how did they deal with repainting?
Correct yes. It happened to HD01, not sure how they dealt with it although I believe it was out of service for a couple of weeks. Is this the one where the platforms were apparently scraping trains? I find that hard to believe, if it's true though, what set did it happen to, and how did they deal with repainting?
MK4s had never run along the line before TfW brought them in for Manchester, so why would they be cleared? The Mk3 services stopped going via Crewe years ago. Yes it may have been sensible, however they didn't.I did find it a bit strange that the Crewe - Shrewsbury via Nantwich line wasn't cleared for MK4s considering it's the key diversion route when something goes wrong via Wrexham.
Correct in the fact there was no Mk4s before the current service. With only three services a day in each direction*, it was probably thought to be easier to terminate the MkIVs at Chester or Shrewsbury and get passengers on the next DMU service in the event of any prolonged disruption.
*I don’t believe there was a MkIV service before the current one, which started, I think, with one a day before expanding to the current three. Happy to be corrected!
Since the MK4s came in though for Holyhead-Cardiff, Crewe is a common diversion for these services as the line via Wrexham isn't always the most reliable, especially with weather related incidents, it would be good practise to try and have a diversion route for the MK4s. I was on an MK4 from Cardiff when a tree came down near Gobowen and sadly we had to sit in Shrewsbury for an hour and as passengers, we had to make a toss up between going up to Crewe and trying to get home that way or sit it out hoping it would sort itself. Meanwhile, from the Chester side, a train diverted via Crewe instead and consequently ended up about 5 minutes late at Shrewsbury. We could have diverted and saved a huge amount of delays.MK4s had never run along the line before TfW brought them in for Manchester, so why would they be cleared? The Mk3 services stopped going via Crewe years ago. Yes it may have been sensible, however they didn't.
Cardiff drivers don't sign Crewe - Chester. So unless there happens to be a spare Crewe or Holyhead driver handy, if it's got a Cardiff driver on it can't go via Crewe.Drivers and guards have the knowledge, it's just the train which couldn't go that way. .
