I've got the invite for the online test. As far as I can tell it does not count towards your two attempts and is just to whittle down the numbers for the assessment centre tests. Best of luck
I think there are some on the OPC websiteCan someone point me in the right direction on here or online for some practice tests for this OPC test they send through please ?
When they email you, click on the link and there will be full explanations and examples etc. Also on OPC website. Also you can search the names of tests on YouTube and there are videos explaining about the tests etc.Can someone point me in the right direction on here or online for some practice tests for this OPC test they send through please ?
No these all count. Fail one and its a life.Just got an OPC email through with a list of online psychometric tests to complete, I'm assuming if you fail any of these it doesn't count as one of your two attempts and is just a preliminary assessment to get through to the next stage?
These are the tests itselfNo these all count. Fail one and its a life.
Same hereReceived nothing back yet, but my application is still listed as submitted on the careers page, so I guess no news is good news right now. Will check back later.
I'm unsure about this as I've read multiple threads on here, some saying you do lose a life and others stating you don't.No these all count. Fail one and its a life.

These aren’t your psychometrics. They simply to whittle down the numbers. I’ve taken these tests 5 times already! No these all count. Fail one and its a life.

Yes you are possibly right as they are online tests, you will be invited to do psychometrics in a controlled environment and that's what counts. But I'd still confirm.I'm unsure about this as I've read multiple threads on here, some saying you do lose a life and others stating you don't.
I've just dropped OPC an email asking to clarify as if this is the case I might pull my application as I've got COVID at the minute and don't really want to chance it if I'm not 100%
Exactly it was the mention of psychometrics that threw me.These aren’t your psychometrics. They simply to whittle down the numbers. I’ve taken these tests 5 times already!

These are psychometric assessments to whittle down numbers as they have to pay for everyone who does a psychometric test which is probably where you're getting confused. No these all count. Fail one and its a life.

I think it was the fact that the test were said to be psychometric which are usually done in a controlled environment (so that there is no cheating and as such you do lose a life). In this instance I guess they are repeated once invited into a centre.Seeing some people saying you lose a life by failing any of these is very surprising did not think any life's were lost for pre assessment Centre exams.
This is a pre assessment so no lives lost. You simply won't go any further is you fail.Euston, just got an email for OPC. I've seen people saying about lives ? If I fail my attempt to get into avanti train driving this time, does the lives thing mean I can only apply a certain amount of other times? Bit unsure as to what the lives thing meant.
Thanks
So failing any of these online tests will not affect any current applications with any other TOCS?I think it was the fact that the test were said to be psychometric which are usually done in a controlled environment (so that there is no cheating and as such you do lose a life). I just received an OPC but I also passed the enhanced with Arriva and I'm waiting for a DMI invite with them however everything with them is currently on hold.
Was just wondering do Avanti not consider this pass when recruiting. Do you have to start from the beginning.
No it won't affect anything g at this stage. You simply don't matter. So failing any of these online tests will not affect any current applications with any other TOCS?
I can confirm if you pass all these your only have to the do the CBI which Avanti use instead of the MMI I do not want to do the online tests if they can in anyway put my application with anyone else at risk.
I'm was more hoping I wouldn't have to do any of assessments and would be progressed further up the process as a result of passing an enhanced assesment to DMI stage with another TOC.Just about to complete the OPC assessments for Manchester. No test you can do on your own at home will carry much weight for anything other than a sift for the role you're applying for. If you have any applications elsewhere, nothing you do at this stage is going to jeopardise them. Just do your best and don't stress over it.
Situational and visual judgement tests I believeMay I ask, which Tests are the OPC asking to complete?
