How often does XC run HSTs between Birmingham and Manchester?

I noticed once a while ago a set of Cross Country's HST was sitting at the Manchester Piccadilly platform. Does it happen often or when was the last time it's running between BHM-MAN?

I don’t believe any diagrams normally take them that way but I could be wrong.

Never had the luck of being on one in about 5 years of weekly / biweekly travelling this route.

No, it does not happen often; it's very rare these days.

We have a winner! An HST at Piccadilly must be a rarity these days

An HST may have run to Manchester since then but if so, not often at all!

I would imagine that someone like @43096 or @43094 might possibly know...

It's a very rare occurrence, which usually only happens during unplanned disruption. Both workings also have to be Birmingham crewed for it to work.

Thanks all for prompt response, I couldn't recall the exact date but it seemed to be some time in spring this year.
