I'm lead to believe it's very few ATW drivers who are in the RMT, however naturally ASLEF drivers will not cross their picket lines.

I'm not an expert on employment law, and anyone who is please feel free to correct me, but wouldn't that be unlawful secondary action? In fact i suspect ASLEF, to avoid a potential court case, would probably clearly instruct it's drivers to report for work as normal.

TSSA instructs its members to report for work as normal when another union takes industrial action.

However, I know of union memebrs who have refused to cross picket lines and no action has been taken against them, even though they were not involved in the action. One example is that CWU members refused to deliver mail to government depts when PCS mounted picket lines as part of a strike.

this is where the militant side of the railway does cause problems alot of drivers are either in ASLEF or the RMT, these 2 unions have a very bad relationship and cannot agree on anything (bit like myself and the odd individual here lol) however tho if one goes on strike the other will not cross the picket line, if management can they will play oone off the other to cause unrest

you would probably just plead that you were intimidated by their picket.
