But London midlands dont have the original seating! They were refurbished an reseated in the early 1990s.

150/1 as built 138 seats
150/1 after Centro refurbishment 147 seats (150101 - 150132)
156 (ex FNW - 148 seats)
155 (ex ATN - 150 seats)

The original seating arrangements on 150's were abysmal. I'm assuming by original you mean how 4 seats were grouped together and facing each other. Not the most efficient use of space was this in my opinion.

Yes those were the ones. However the row of 3 was always interesting when sat by the window. You needed to move the other 2 to get anywhere. The facing seats you could shuffle your knees.

London Midland have a mixture of 150/2s and 150/1s even though most of the 150/2s were split up and inserted in 150/1s, but for the purposes of the cascades all but two and the 150/0s will be reformed as 2 car 150s.

This looks like original seat with new seat covers to me: http://anoraksia.ukgeeks.co.uk/p7403781.html

You really don't like admitting you are wrong do you? 150/0 had may types of seating fitted as new including pacer seating fir evaluation. 150/1 had what BR class as standard outer suburban seating fitted. The same as the 318s now. Keep looking! The 150/2 have just got new pads on but no one has ever disputed that. So you claim that LM 150/1 still have the original seat is still wrong along with your myth that the have about 15 seats less. I am surprised someone who is padentic as you can be hasn't checked. It is well documented!

If you want help looking for the 150/1 seats look at them pre 1991 when the had the light blue livery. I don't know when the FGW were redone but the had the original layout much longer. In fact the general layout is still the same except fit the disabled toilet area.

I never made that claim.

I said the London Midland 150s have the original seating. I didn't refer to any particular class of 150s having the original seating. You previously claimed I was wrong to say that the LM 150s had the original seating. Now you're claiming the 150/2s do have the original seating, so you've changed your mind or incorrectly assumed I was referring to 150/1s when I wasn't.

Angel Trains state the London Midland 150/1s have 138 seats, so perhaps you have another source to prove otherwise?

The point about the LM 150s replacing the 156s is like I previously said Northern will have 150 diagrams where any 150 can turn up so after the cascade it could as easily be a former First North Western 150 that turns up on a current 156 service as a London Midland 150.

150.

Good back peddling. It was a fair assumption on my part you meant the 150/1s considering that is the vast majority of the London Midland fleet. But considering you still can't admit the the 150/1 where reseated I will take that post as the closest you can bring yourself to it!

By the way when did I claim the 150/2s layout had changed from built? Considering I have used them both since they were built as the were first introduced in my region I do remember! Maybe I should say east coast HSTs have the original seats once the deal with MML is complete (ic70s) when someone says they don't I can say the minority of coaches do so I am right! I never specified which set.

They were re-seated by Centro some years back to increase capacity from what was supplied by Angel. I commute on these things, 147 it is.

If you dont know dont post it!!!!!!

Actually you did claim the 150/1 had the original seats and this link was supposed to prove it. It is from a 150/1 as I can tell by the layout around the doors! So you were definately wrong - just admit it! Oh and don't try the it is a 150/0 nonsense. It is from either a 521xx or 571xx car which formed a 150/1 as built!

Post 29 you said "But London midlands dont have the original seating!" in reply to my comment of "I said that the LM 150s had the original seating". That suggested you thought that all the LM 150s don't have the original seating.

You've also stated how many seats a FNW 156 has in post 29, when it's 4 former Northern Spirit 156s that are being transferred.

Anyway, whatever they have currently they may need to have some removed to comply with DDA in the long term. 156s have a DDA complaint toilet and a wheelchair space near the accessible toilet without the need to remove seats.

It could also be the case that Centro's requirement doesn't suit the North West services to Manchester Airport, Southport, Blackpool etc. which need a decent amount of luggage space.

you are funny, I was right for the vast majority of the fleet wasn't I, just as you were wrong for the majority. Perhaps you should have explictly said in you post you only meant the minority 150/2s

You've also stated how many seats a FNW 156 has in post 29, when it's 4 former Northern Spirit 156s that are being transferred.

I have quoted the seating capacity of both and made no comment about which ones were getting transferred. Nice try.

Seriously get your computer virus checked as you're reading messages that are completely different to what I typed in.

I was wrong about all LM 150s having the original seating, although some do. However, you previously claimed the none of the LM 150s had the original seating (post 29) and won't admit your own mistake but you're dancing around like a 10 year old because you've proved I was partly wrong. So when are you're going to admit your own mistake?

You've actually stated the Arriva Trains Northern 155s.

Not sure what relevance the last part of your post - but I have always found it amusing how you can't admit you are wrong and how pedantic you get on minor points when you clearly are. What would you have done if I had said 150/0 and 150/1 were reseated. You still when for that link to prove me wrong to dig yourself deeper!

You got on that one a typo I am afraid the ex ATN 156s have 150 seats anyway. As for post 29 you are still trying to get around the fact you were wrong by singling out a small minority of the fleet. Did you know EMT 153s have Richmond seating - lol

Proves my point. Your computer has viruses and you're seeing something different to everyone else.

No it doesn't as I edited my post to admit my typo, I was in the process of doing it while you posted. Unlike some I will admit when I am wrong. Anyway although this is fun on a Sunday afternoon no point in wasting more time on it. We both know you were wrong, but it is not in your nature to admit mistakes so we will leave it at that.

Re-read your last line in post 33. "Looks like the original seats re-padded to me." Well my english isn't very good but that implies to me the unit in the photo has the as built seats which were repadded. The unit in the photo was as built a 150/1 so was reseated. Tell me what should I have interepted you meant? The photo is not showing the interior of a 150/2 coach is it?

This debate is more tedious than Justin Smith.

Speaking of which, there's a new feature in the local paper in Sheffield - pictures of fly-tipping - thanks to an idea from local resident "Justin Smith". It may not be the same guy, but nothing would surprise me...

2 x 153 is not an option for the Marston Vale jobs due to platform lengths, I assume this is why LM may keep some 150s.

Lets see what happens when the negotiations are completed.

Yes you are right - Quail has them down as two car platforms @ approx 20m length so:

2x153 = 46.4m , 2 car 150 = 39m & a 2 xcar 170 type is 47.24m (a 142 = 30.9m!)

Going to have to keep some 150's (or give us 142's!) I was hioping for a nce new train to go my one stop from Fenny to Blethcley!

I am fairly certain platform lengthening has occurred on Marston Vale line and now all platforms can take 2x153.

I think it'd better for them to keep a few 150s, 153s are more useful for fleets made up, primarily, of Sprinters.

OK, digging up an old thread I know but I don't really want to start a new one...

Has anyone got any idea of Northern will be directly replacing it's 180 diagrams with 6 carrage 150s, now, I know a 4 carrage 150 has a similar number of seats but I'm thinking more of useable floor space, off Bolton in a morning, it's more about the standing room available rather than how many seats there are, now dumbing this down a lot, a 4 car 150 has lets say 80m of space. As apposed to a 5 car 180 that has 115m, less say 10m for driving cabs and the useless buffet, that is still the loss of 20 - 30m of standing room. As apposed to if a 5 or 6 carrage 150 where to be used then it would result in 100 - 120m of carrage space.

Or could we see some outside the box thinking from Northern, the Blackpool N - Manchester Vic service in a morning to be operated by an 8 carrage pacer? (It will fit in a 138m platform)

Today's Railway Centre main page states 150010 now running as a 2 car set with 57226 removed, prior to transfer for FGW. This true?! Not seen any confirmation of which units moving as yet. Usual RC disclaimers apply...

I have this list:

150101/102/104/106/108/122/124-126/132

as being the units to go to FGW. I've had it a long time and I have no idea where it came from but it would probably have been one of the more well known web forums. It may be right, wrong or simply out of date but 150126 is on the list......

57226 is a Class 150/2 vehicle, so has nothing to do with 150126?

What I don't understand is why there are 10 sets in this list, while the official document from DfT says 18 vehicles (9 sets) will go to FGW.

the link above shows 150010 as a 2 car set, maybe it due to maintainence - the centre cars of the 150/0 are to be transferred to Northern Rail.

As far as i understand:

a) 150101, 102, 104, 106, 108, 122, 124, 125, 126 & 132 are to go to FGW.
b) 150202*, 204*, 206*, 210*, 214, 216, 220* & 226* are to go to Northern (* = still acting centre cars at present time).
c) After the centre cars of the hyrbid class 150/0 have been removed the units will revert back to 150/1, but as to which operator they go to is still to be sorted.
d) 150016 & 150017 have 57 odd centre cars as the 52 cars were scrapped due to crashes so i think these two units along with 150001 & 150002 are staying with London Midland.

A couple of weeks ago 150017 was running around as a 2 car set, so i think if the 150/2 centre car gains a fault they remove it from the set so at least 2 carriages are still running in service rather than the full 3 carriages been out of service at the depot.

Agree (apart from not having 150132 in the list!), but things don't add up yet with several sets still unallocated, although am sure saw that Northern getting 18 now as opposed to the 14 originally quoted. Would still leave 7 on the shelf...

All Northern 150s are already 2+3 so I would imagine this would stay.

although as long as they have the bus seat outside the toilet im sorted!
