Sorry if its been mentioned already but when are the remaining 158/159s & 444s due to get repainted into SWR livery?
The 444s and 450s are slowly being done. I don’t think anyone is monitoring it in detail, given the time since last post. Any completion target is long gone. Not sure about the DMU situation.

I can imagine any DMU repaint will be done during their refurbishment, though as with everything now under the thumb of the DfT, has apparently been placed on hold (again).

Sadly that will also see off the last of the nice and warm SWT interiors (just like good old 158880 I'm currently sat in) for the stark SWR Grey (with whatever seat get's chosen).

I disagree with you there, @Dan15812 is keeping the repaints of 444/450 units updated currently and as soon as a unit has been repainted then the list is altered. At present they are concentrating on 450 units as there are nearly 3 times more of them compared to 444 units.
At this moment 2 x 450 units are in the paint shop U.450037 & U.450058.

Very sorry all, I completely missed that the last list had been edited since originally posted.

As the current list posted kindly by Dan15812 is about Desiros only, I have edited it to include the 158/159s, which are also part of the permanent fleet, while tidying it up a little.

158 - 2 units (20%) in SWR livery

888^, 890^

159 - 22 units (76%) in SWR livery

001, 002, 003, 004, 005, 006, 007, 008, 009, 010, 011, 012, 013, 014, 015, 016, 017, 018, 019, 020, 021, 022

444 - 28 units (62%) in SWR livery

002, 003, 005, 006, 007, 011, 012, 014, 015, 016, 017, 018, 019, 020, 021, 023, 024, 025, 027, 029, 030, 031, 032, 037, 038, 040, 042, 043

450 - 62 units (49%) in SWR livery

005, 006, 007, 009, 010, 011, 013, 014, 015, 016, 017, 018, 020, 021, 022, 023, 024, 025, 026, 027, 029, 030, 033, 034, 036, 037, 038, 039, 041, 042, 043, 048, 049, 052, 053, 054, 055, 056, 057, 058, 061, 063, 064, 066, 067, 069, 075, 077, 081, 088, 089, 096, 101, 103, 106, 107, 108, 111, 113, 115, 119, 122, 123, 126 and 127

Feel free to let me know of any more repainted units. I see little point in tracking 458s until they begin to enter service on Mainline duties. 484/701 units all have the livery from introduction to service.

Units marked with * are currently being done and will next appear in the public eye in SWR livery.

Units marked shown in grey have had the original vinyl wrap with stripes (not been painted) These are likely to be repainted in the future.

It’s nice to see that there are now more repainted 450’s than old livery units.

I'm quite surprised how well the SWR livery is wearing so far, it's early days really but the primarily light grey paintwork is doing well on the Desiros it has to be said.

Sadly the good condition of the paintwork contrasts rather sharply with the increasingly poor state of the interiors, where non-functioning toilets, vestibule doors isolated open and bodyside windows which are either opaque or full of rainwater, all seem to have become standard features. It's rather a shame.

Amusingly, there are more 444+450 formations than triple blue 450s today! There is only one triple blue 450, on the PDL, and all the other many trios are mixed with a couple in all grey. I noticed they’ve paused the 444s while they get more 450s sorted, which I like as I’d rather hold onto the white livery than the miserable blue.

That may have had to do with the fact they were 10 x 444 short yesterday, ran 9 v 10 & 8 v 9 out of Northam Depot yesterday morning.

As a result of the stock shortage, there were also no 444s on the Alton line yesterday despite them now being booked on weekdays.

Why are SWR desiro toilets always out of use these days ?

Combination of issues, including insufficient diagrams returning stock to CET plants, various CET plants being out of action and a lack of water bowser drivers / lack of tanking training for station staff.

It also appears that more are out of service because they are making a point of announcing them to make people aware at stations prior to boarding. The same goes for lifts at stations, they are also being announced when out of service.

Is it possible to count 040 and 111 towards the percentage of units in SWR livery? True, it’s a variation - although you could simply add a ^ to denote this - but this thread tracks what’s in SWR livery, and those two both are.

The thread is tracking SWR repaints. 444040 and 450111 haven't been repainted and will be at some point during the repaint programme, therefore the current listing is correct.

450091 has also been repainted.

Indeed, noticed this the other day, so fresh you could almost smell the paint.

The sooner the better for those two. The early vinyl Stripy livery is starting to look pretty awful on all 3 fleets, particularly on 4040 and the 158s. The advantages of painted liveries being easier to clean vs vinyl are showing themselves up again.
