345013 was in service out of Paddington on Friday by the looks of things - so that is just under six weeks from conversion to passenger service.

and both 345013 and 345014 on Tuesday.

Just heard a door release sounder go off slightly further down the train, while at speed. Anyone else ever seen this?
Sounded like either 340254 or 340354

It appears as if the conversion of 345015 to 9-car may be complete with the usual move to signal berth 0142 last night.

Of the remaining 7-car 345s, they were last 'seen' as follows - 345016 27 March, 345017 1 April, 345038 31 March, 345042 29 March, 345056 30 March, 345064 24 March. While this isn't complete information, perhaps 345064 is next.

How many have to remain 7-car for the moment in order to access certain Paddington platforms?

345016 is next in the programme.

There's 2 diagrams I believe that require 7-car operation for Platform 14. So you probably need 3 for security.

Having viewed this forum often recently I thought I'd register and contribute. Picking up on recent reports 7-car 345064 was working in the evening peak yesterday, 31 March: this was actually one of 3 7-cars observed, the others being 345017 and 345056.

Just passed 345018 at 1444. Heading at a crawl towards Paddington alongside OOC. No lights or passengers on, so obviously still on test.

69 of the 70 units have been accepted by MTREL and all 69 are now available for passenger service. 345018 is the only unit not accepted yet but this will be in the next few days

Despite being available for passenger service, to the best of my observations 345067 and 345069 still haven't carried passengers - it will be interesting to see whether that changes before the tunnel opens to passengers.

'03_179''s blog shows them both on tunnel diagrams today.

'03_179' is now posting the 18 units diagrammed to tunnel workings each day. It will be interesting to compile the list of units working those to see whether all of the 9-car units cycle through those workings over a given period.

It is good to see 345018 out on test today in '3973EXL''s post.

If they're running in the tunnels they are in all but name "carrying passengers" though, as the service is running through as effectively timetabled running as if there were passengers and I would expect the same requirements apply.

I'm pretty sure that they do; last week I saw three units at Westbourne Park which a couple of days earlier had been reported in service on the west side and similarly I've noticed units in service which were reported on test runs the previous day.

There are one or two diagrams where units work early morning Heathrow services which then return to OOC and end up on test diagrams through the core tunnel.
There is also a diagram where a unit works morning peak services to/from Paddington which then runs ECS through the tunnel and then works evening peak services out of Liverpool Street.

345069 was reported elsewhere as having been in service out of Liverpool Street on Wednesday. It appears to have returned to Old Oak Common on 5Y69 earlier today though. That takes the number to have carried passengers to 68 of the 70 units.

[Picture shows a screen shot of output from TrackIt! with headcode '5I69' cancelled at signal berth C311 following the arrival of 5Y69 1422 Chadwell Heath Turnback Siding to Old Oak Depot at around 3.20pm on 14 April]

Both 345067 (off tunnel operations today) and 345069 therefore appear to be at Old Oak Depot for the weekend. The only workings into the tunnel until Tuesday appear to be two units going in on Saturday for testing and returning on Sunday, then three on Sunday returning on Monday.

345016 appears to have completed its conversion to 9-car with an appearance at signal berth 0142 earlier today. I assume that 345017 is now in for conversion leaving 345038/42/56/64 to do the 7-car work.

Of the other recent conversions, 345011 appears to have been on depot today as it made similar moves at 10.30 and 14.30, 345012 was on tunnel work and 345015 appears to have run tonight on 5L20 / 5C20 / 5Y29 from Old Oak Depot to Gidea Park sidings and back. I don't think any of these three have yet done passenger work since conversion.

EDIT - Monday at 21:00

345069 currently working 9T29 2048 London Paddington to Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. It also worked out of Paddington on Saturday.

345067 appears to be at Plumstead.

Thanks for the postings. Not a lot of progress with 345018 then this week.

It seems from '03_179's blog today that 345015 was on tunnel running and 345067 was having a rest. 345012 has also been on tunnel running today but 345011 appears to have gone missing since 14 April.

I was on the Canal by Old Oak Common depot on 19/04/2022 as dusk arrived and saw about ten 345s. Hard to id.
345011 was in the siding 5th from canal (ignoring empty sidings).
345018 might have been on the furthest occupied siding (about 10th). It was hard to read as the "1" was behind the vertical of the handrail on the steps. I cannot be sure as the upright might have been wide enough to hide any wider digit than a "1". Whatever it was it was 9 car as I saw the end furthest from the buffers.
345010 was on the nearest occupied siding.
I could not get a better angle as limited choice of views betweeen the trees.

Fairly confident I saw 067 at Gidea Park this morning, could not confirm the ID but it was in EL livery and as far as I know 067 is the only remaining unit not to be converted to TFL rail livery. Unless they have started returning EL livery to other units.

Can confirm 067 is at GDP today.

What’s the difference other than the roundel?

I guess we can see that 345038 is this fortnight's conversion project following 345017 then, leaving 345042, 345056 and 345064 to cover the 7-car requirement on the west side (or a need to find a different platform at Paddington for
2P59 0740 Reading to London Paddington, 2P67 0759 Reading to London Paddington, 9N68 1725 London Paddington to Maidenhead, 9R90 1825 London Paddington to Reading and 9N04 1902 London Paddington to Maidenhead which continue to be shown using platform 14 from the May timetable change).

Is anyone able to confirm which unit formed the 17:48 TfL Rail PAD > HWV yesterday (26th April), which departed from Platform 9?
