With no convenient buses (aside from school buses!) we take the one remaining train of the day, the 2228 Northern service, from which we alight at Manchester Victoria at 2340 on Tuesday.

There is one more departure, but it would only take us back to central Manchester. Therefore, we wait a few hours (taking advantage of the overnight rule) and board 1C50, Northern's 0525 service, from which we alight at Roose at 0756 on Wednesday.

We take the five minute walk to Lyndhurst Way (stop L) on Archway Road and there board the 1441 Arriva North West service 15 to Knotty Ash (the bus stop adjacent to East Prescot Road on Pilch Lane) that arrives there at 1454 on Wednesday afternoon.
Paul, can I just ask if this is the Newenham Crescent bus stop? This is the name of the stop that's on the intersection of there and East Prescot Road? If you could specify the exact name of the bus stop in future postings instead of 'the bus stop adjacent to X and Y' it would be greatly appreciated as it makes it easier for planning the next journey and can sometimes lead to a bit of confusion as to what stop we're on :)

Believing to be on the right stop, at the end of Pilch Lane, we next take the six minute walk to the Thomas Lane bus stop on the A57 and next board the 1505 Arriva North West service 61A to Aigburth Vale (Ashfield Road), arriving there at 1540 on Wednesday afternoon.

The journey planner that I use has an "advanced" detail summary that is stated to offer more concise area locations, especially where there are more than one stop on a stated road. I also use their recommended phraseology for the "advanced" location. However, as this appears to cause problems for other contributors to the quiz, I will take note of your worries and will immediately take the necessary action to ensure that it does not happen again.

Perhaps it might be better if I only make postings on this thread in future of rail services and naught else.

We next take 2L85, the 2115 East Midlands Railway service, from which we alight at Newark Castle at 2146 on Wednesday.

Scored through as incorrect timings...

Should this be the 2131 from Nottingham arriving at Newark Castle at 2203?
Indeed it should, seems today's working of that service is a very short term schedule.
I'll score it through and here is the revised entry...

We next take 2L85, the 2131 East Midlands Railway service, from which we alight at Newark Castle at 2202 on Wednesday.
