The disabled bogs being OOU isn't down to severe weather (unless someone had had a very dodgy curry), is it? And the fact it says only disabled toilets are unavailable means the non-PRM ones are available, rather than no toilet facilities.

Personally, I'd rather they gave first priority to which trains are actually running (or not). The five cancellations is just utter nonsense. That was the real point I was making: info on what toilets are not available is of secondary importance in the grand scheme of things when they haven't run a train for 56 hours and continue to cancel left, right and centre.

Not sure that’s a safe assumption. At a pinch, foreign object collision damage to units, or tanking being rendered impossible by extremely high winds, could lead to set swaps to non PRM stock/full toilets leading to the “no bogs” message.

I’m not disagreeing for a second that information could be better disseminated on the railway (trust me, it’s just as bad internally), but the info re. loos and cancellations isn’t mutually exclusive.

Just to reinforce that point around information, that very same service has been showing as cancelled for quite some time now, yet SWR Journeycheck persists with the message about toilets, and no mention the train isn't even running.

Just look at the VST departures the rest aren't running tomorrow apparently, looks like xx00 to Ipswich and xx14 to Colchester.
But you are talking about tomorrow when there’s an emergency timetable with no through services. I referred to half hourly as the normal service.

I don't believe it will make it all the way, normally it'll get subbed at Taunton for a 800.

Are there actually any train crew that sign both Reading and 150s?

Definitely made it!

It did indeed, and is now working the return 19:02 service back to Exeter St Davids via Swindon / Melksham / Westbury.

And yes, all Exeter based HSS Drivers sign the 150/2s as well. A weekend of no services along the sea wall (Dawlish engineering works vice weather!) allowing a number of 150s to be spare, plus a driver who signs both and a need to transport passengers allowed this to happen. A rare piece of applaudable common sense being used here!

(Though I have to admit, I'm pleased 202/207/216 aren't in this mix with their awful interiors!)

A Thameslink Service has struck a tree in the Tulse Hill are and lines are blocked. Possible minor derailment too.

I have just travelled from Wimbledon to Farnborough. Slightly late due to the 50 mph speed restriction, although at one point we were overtaken rather impressively by train on the fast line! But otherwise, stress free. Interestingly, the train was very busy indeed for a Sunday.

Other services on the mainline seem to be reasonably okay: as others have said, the advice is to avoid Reading.

I was surprised at how few trees in the woodland seem to have fallen, but there are a lot of fallen branches (rather than entire trees). Those can be equally dangerous, of course.

I suppose the issue now is you've got a backlog of people that couldn't tried to travel Friday and ran into issues, plus those that have postponed PLUS though that would travel anyway - and have decided to now that the red weather warning has passed.

Can anybody confirm where on RTT is the run of the unit 150 from Exeter to London.

Thank you for any information.

Well, it isn’t strictly wrong. If it doesn’t run at all, it won’t be conveying any disabled toilet facilities. ;)

(On a serious note, I do take your point.)

Reports that the 2L57 1807 London Waterloo to Basingstoke has struck a tree between Fleet & Winchfield.

(Currently at Farnborough on the late running 1B51 1654 London Waterloo to Southampton train)

Not exactly very fast on that route so shows the risks being presented with collision with fallen trees but too many shouldn't have been there in the first place but given they are NR has no choice but to impose speed restrictions or even service suspension.

Isn’t some of it 90mph? Plenty fast enough.

I understand there’s a 50mph speed restriction “sarf of the river” going in tomorrow - possibly applied already?

The route through Tulse Hill station and the adjoining jcns is 20-30mph

There's a few pictures/videos floating about of this for anyone interested in seeing things in unusual places;

A Class 458 unit has struck some branches/small tree near Sunningdale this evening so no Waterloo-Reading services currently.

If it’s happened where I think it has, 45 initially, increasing to 35/60 further away from Tulse Hill. Certainly enough to make it potentially nasty.
Its sitting on the berth of TVC773 so depending on how far its got from Tulse Hill it certainly would have been accelerating upto towards 60 unless there was a blanket 50 in force at the time.

Quite possibly. I’m not entirely sure where, though, as the route via LBG is open.

There seems to be some kind of engineering work between New Cross Gt and London Bridge LL, so that might be why the service was running ex Blackfriars?

Meanwhile GTR currently been at a standstill for an hour on the Cambridge branch in the Baldock area, seems to be a pair of 387s having trouble.

Glad I’m off work til Saturday now…

Yes, the works must have limited capacity that way, I suppose.

It sounds as though the network is going into complete meltdown again tonight. I’m working tomorrow so, purely from a selfish perspective, I hope it either sorts itself out or remains bad enough for my day’s work to be cancelled!

Best of luck tomorrow. That squall was quite evil (with the beauty of live weather tracking apps it was predictable here to the nearest 5 minutes which is quite impressive!). Calmed down a lot now, but still showing ugly conditions right through to tomorrow evening.

Have to say I’m utterly sick of this run of weather. The last four weekends have been horrible, though this one has been by far the worst. We do seem to be getting “locked in” weather patterns very frequently at the moment, where the same weather sticks for many days or weeks.

Back on the move, a mere 269 minutes late (although it was 112 minutes late departing Waterloo).

Let's see how long until a sprinter arrives as I dare say there will be a good number from this train wanting stations towards Salisbury (and probably a small number wanting stations beyond Salisbury)

Nope. Area's with mechanical signalling are not covered due to no "feed" being available, the site works off of a data feed from network rail. Thereby, it only covers areas it can obtain a feed for.

The site can still be very useful though. There are other sites like traksy and signal maps (to name just 2) who may have more coverage in other areas not covered by OTT though.
Interesting. I didn't realise the areas in question had mechanical signalling.as they are coloured lights.

GWR extending 50mph speed restriction into Monday. They will be running a significantly reduced service and late notice delays and cancellations are likely according to their twitter.
No trains to Gatwick Airport for much of the day on the North Downs Line.

I wonder if they will be advertising cancellation and no service on that line tomorrow? They are still advertising it right now when trains are running, although on a reduced frequency.

South Western Railway is planning to operate an amended service tomorrow but haven't said what yet.

They have asked people to consider if their journey is necessary though.

They so say all lines blocked at Hampton Court due to wind damage. Does anyone know what was damaged by the wind?

Don't think there were ever meant to be - engineering block between Guildford and Shalford. Don't know if the advertised buses ran.
The Guildford/Reading trains seemed to be running quite well this afternoon, but the Shalford/Redhill ones had some heavy delays.
