Another station built on a tight budget in the mid-1980s by BR with a flimsy wooden construction (now suffering from wear-and-tear) is Hall i' th' Wood.

Since 6 July 2020, trains have not called at Hopton Heath or Sugar Loaf stations due to the short platform and the inability to maintain social distancing between passengers and the guard when opening the train door.

(I am assuming that this is still the case, although I'm unable to find confirmation of this)

The third station bearing the name of the town, Burnley Manchester Road, is not served served by the same trains that also serve Burnley Central - and, for that matter, and Burnley Barracks. To travel from the first station to the second and third, you will have to change at Rose Grove.

I think confusion has arisen as Burnley Manchester Road on the Copy Pit line and is not on the same line as the other two named stations which are on the line to Colne. To reach Burnley Manchester Road from those two stations, you would have to make a reversal at Rose Grove.

Blackburn was also once served by services that used a long-closed loop line.

The stations at Blackburn, Accrington and the now closed Manchester Liverpool Exchange seemed to have a regular exchange of Station Masters from the early 1920s to the late 1940s. This is a list of Blackburn's Station Masters during this period, and you can see that they all worked at one or the other of the other stations, and one at both.

In the 2017 Keep Wales Tidy's Best Kept Station Awards, Prestatyn was Wales’ Best Kept Staffed Station, and Chirk station was Wales' Best Kept Unstaffed Station.

Gobowen was also opened by the Shrewsbury and Chester Railway in 1848.

The station building at Gobowen was designed by Thomas Mainwaring Penson (1818 - 1864) and is a Grade II listed building.
The original station building at Church Stretton was also designed by him; in 1914, when the station was relocated just to the south of the Sandford Avenue road bridge, new station buildings were erected, although these have since been demolished.

Clapham High Street is another DfT category F1 station that has lost its station buildings.

Clapham High Street has had several names, having been was opened in August 1862 by the London, Chatham & Dover Railway as Clapham, and renamed Clapham & North Stockwell from May 1863. In 1937 it was renamed Clapham before receiving its current name in 1989 to avoid confusion with Clapham Junction.
