Spotted the green Wrightbus hydrogen demo double decker (sorry don’t know the exact body names etc) at Picardy Place today blinded ‘Lothian Hydrogen’.
Personally I’m not expecting any further orders from Wright. I suspect this is being trialled more for its technological offerings rather than the model itself.https://www.flickr.com/photos/davidsbusphotos/51732241310/ (photo of the Wright Hydroliner LX71AOS as it wont generate a preview)
Surprised to see a Wright, I think hydrogen is the way forward for Edinburgh though.
Wright have vastly improved their build quality after the events of 2019. That has been reflected in how many buses they are producing now, wouldn’t be the end of the world of Lothian went back to Wright.Personally I’m not expecting any further orders from Wright. Zero Emission vehicles have come a long way in the last 5 years. I think Hydrogen is the way forward too, provided an economic way to do the process can be achieved, which over time I believe can happen.
Again similarly to how the BZL has recently come along, I’d expect Lothian to look at a Volvo product if any order is made. As I said previously, I still think it’s only a matter of time before a BZL demonstrator ends up in Edinburgh.
It will be interesting. Will Lothian go back? Build quality might be forgiven but the StreetAirs are surely enough to leave a long lasting bad taste.Wright have vastly improved their build quality after the events of 2019. All of 679-690 are there, and one of 691-698 is also there.at least 679-684 and 686-688 are at Seafield, some others without fleet numbers applied there too judging by recent photos
I believe they're going for a repaint.Does anyone know if buses 591-4 have been withdrawn? None of them have been out since the beginning of November.

927 made a fine sight at the Gyle yesterday on a 22!All of 679-690 are there, and one of 691-698 is also there.
Thank you for that.592 & 593 are currently at Seafield having return back from paint. 591 and 594 are currently away for paint.
Onwards to ECB.
Quite few operators are running a Saturday service on Tuesday 28th, mainly running a Sunday service. So it is surreal having a similar service on Monday 27th and Wednesday 29th for example. That is the Christmas/ New Year festive timetables been confirmed by Lothian Buses.
There will be special festive levels in place, on December 24th and 31st services will finish earlier than normal.
From December 27th to December 31st Lothian will operate a Saturday timetable.

Lothian Country are slowly decreasing their Double Decker fleet.Hybrids out East?! Suppose they'll be put to better use than plodding around West Lothian.
Is 691 in Lothian Colours or ECB/LC ?All of 679-690 are there, and one of 691-698 is also there.
Maybe the 57 plates at East Coast. Is it the idea that mostly singles will work for Lothian country in future?
I'm guessing that these will oust the former airlinks from East coast
No they’ll be for the 57 PlatesI'm guessing that these will oust the former airlinks from East coast
Lothian, the ECB rumours were buried long agoIs 691 in Lothian Colours or ECB/LC ?
Think we’d have still of had all the 09/59 plates still in the fleet considering a number cuts since pre pandemic wouldn’t have likely happened. The B7TLs were finished off for being surplus to demand and so were a good few of the 07/57 plate B9s which they otherwise wouldn’t have beenProbably not much different.
The 600s may have been specced with the same seats and interior lighting as the XLBs, but that's about all i can think of.
And the glass staircases possibly.Probably not much different.

Agreed. I think there would have been a big 2022 order placed to bring in like for like replacements for the 09/59s.Think we’d have still of had all the 09/59 plates still in the fleet considering a number cuts since pre pandemic wouldn’t have likely happened.
