Surprised to see a Wright, I think hydrogen is the way forward for Edinburgh though.

Personally I’m not expecting any further orders from Wright. I suspect this is being trialled more for its technological offerings rather than the model itself.

Zero Emission vehicles have come a long way in the last 5 years. I think Hydrogen is the way forward too, provided an economic way to do the process can be achieved, which over time I believe can happen.

Again similarly to how the BZL has recently come along, I’d expect Lothian to look at a Volvo product if any order is made. As I said previously, I still think it’s only a matter of time before a BZL demonstrator ends up in Edinburgh.

Not specific to the this thread, but a tip for posting Flickr links is to make sure the text goes on a separate line with nothing else. It should generate a preview, but I'm yet to get this to work consistently every time.

Wright have vastly improved their build quality after the events of 2019. That has been reflected in how many buses they are producing now, wouldn’t be the end of the world of Lothian went back to Wright.

It will be interesting. Will Lothian go back? Build quality might be forgiven but the StreetAirs are surely enough to leave a long lasting bad taste.

Will they stick with ADL electrics or branch out and pick up hydrogen variants too? Will they wait for Volvo to launch something in the hydrogen space?

They do like commonality after all. You could argue all of the above options would offer a degree of that in one way or another?

I note they haven't as far as I've seen committed to stop buying diesel yet but they are going out of fashion rapidly. I little too quickly in my opinion!

Does anyone know if buses 591-4 have been withdrawn? None of them have been out since the beginning of November.

I believe they're going for a repaint.

Here's a photo from flickr below showing 591 and 594 at Seafeild debranded (with fleet numbers still present):
This photo was taken on November 18th.

This is a later photo taken at Seafield:
This was taken December 10th and 591 and 594 seem to now have left.

592 (I think) is at Longstone (I may be wrong here).

I don't know about 593's whereabouts, probably left for the repaint earlier that 591 and 594.

That is the Christmas/ New Year festive timetables been confirmed by Lothian Buses.

There will be special festive levels in place, on December 24th and 31st services will finish earlier than normal.

From December 27th to December 31st Lothian will operate a Saturday timetable.

Quite few operators are running a Saturday service on Tuesday 28th, mainly running a Sunday service. So it is surreal having a similar service on Monday 27th and Wednesday 29th for example.

Is it the idea that mostly singles will work for Lothian country in future?

I'm guessing that these will oust the former airlinks from East coast

All of 679-690 are there, and one of 691-698 is also there.
Is 691 in Lothian Colours or ECB/LC ?

Probably not much different.

The 600s may have been specced with the same seats and interior lighting as the XLBs, but that's about all i can think of.
Think we’d have still of had all the 09/59 plates still in the fleet considering a number cuts since pre pandemic wouldn’t have likely happened. The B7TLs were finished off for being surplus to demand and so were a good few of the 07/57 plate B9s which they otherwise wouldn’t have been

And the glass staircases possibly.

Agreed. I think there would have been a big 2022 order placed to bring in like for like replacements for the 09/59s.

I also think LCB could have seen cut backs, but have instead been bolstered by First's current woes.

The cost driven change to the specified seat I think has actually resulted in an improvement comfort wise.
The jury is very much out on the interior lighting though, some say they prefer it and others say it is a bit too bright and clinical although I guess this is very much a first world problem all things considered

I wonder what if anything we will get next year in terms of new vehicles? We could do with getting rid of most if not all of the 7900s and for my self I do not care one jot how this is done just as long as it happens.

Can anyone say how many buses Lothian have in reserve - enough for the pre-Covid timetable, or enough for the previous (before 14 November) Covid timetable, or what?
