Re tonight's southbound sleeper: although ScotRail web site says it's cancelled, LDB shows the Fort William one left Rannoch 6 mins late. The Inverness portion isn't showing at all so presume cancelled. The Aberdeen one is in the system as due to depart on time at 2142. Maybe the FW portion is seats only to Edinburgh?

Quite interesting this one, one to follow I think......

The Fort Bill one looks cancelled to me given no times the whole route except Rannoch.

No sleepers tonight but three of them did run last night (6th/7th).
1S25 must have been the one seen at Edinburgh
1S26 arrived at Glasgow only about 20 late
1M11 departed over 2 hours late and arr Euston 1 1/2 hours late
1M16 never even left Inverness

Well here is the change.....

Please note the following service alterations:
The Fort William/Aberdeen & Inverness to London Euston - southbound Highlander service - has tonight been cancelled.
The London Euston to Fort William/Aberdeen & Inverness - northbound Highlander service - has tonight been cancelled.

Looks like the Lowland are still running.......

Please note the following service alterations:

The London Euston to Edinburgh service - Lowlander northbound - has tonight been cancelled.

The Fort William to London Euston service - Highlander southbound - has tonight been cancelled.

This isn't very clear. Are all three southbound portions cancelled? Is the northbound Glasgow portion running?

Where exactly are all the 8 car half rakes now anyway? I've lost track with the disruption!

If all the stock is at least at Edinburgh / Glasgow / London and the WCML is open throughout then I'm wondering whether or not they could run Edinburgh and Glasgow as two separate full 16 car sets until the three Highland routes are accessible again?

Just a thought...:)

According to another forum Scottish crews work the Aberdeen portion south on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Guess that's another factor that determines whether it runs or not, ie whether crew is in the right place?

I may be wrong but I'm guessing that the 2 odd cancellations tonight may be due to stock being in the wrong place. If the Fort William stock is already at Edinburgh then that may explain why only the southbound Fort William is cancelled and not the northbound? And again with the lowland, if both sets of stock are at one end then they can only run one tonight to get them in the right place for tomorrow? But staffing may also come into it I guess?

Notice tonight's southbound highland sleeper from Inverness is running, but 18 minutes late, And the northbound has yet to leave Euston.

These are from Nation Rail website so not sure how up to date it is?

Also hearing the southbound Fort William has been cancelled due to melting snow flooding the West Highland Line, So I am guessing the northbound Fort William will not have a lounge car waiting at Edinburgh, if it runs at all?

Anyone explain this? http://realtime.nationalrail.co.uk/cct/train.aspx?T=CREWE+++&J=972675&R=0

Fort William portion splits at Edinburgh, Aberdeen & Inverness portions split at Inverkeithing.

Northbound Highland has departed an hour late.

Think this is just a quirk of the system, in that Inverkeithing is the first set-down point for the Aberdeen portion, so the system "thinks" that's where the train divides. Although we know it splits in Edinburgh, Edinburgh isn't an advertised stop (apart from FW portion picking up, hence the departure time on that portion).

There's a rake of sleeper stock on P11 at Waverley, if anyone's interested. I'm on the Edinburgh portion tonight, hope all's running alright...

I am on the sleeper off Glasgow tonight. Scotrail said it is running but to expect delays. So did the sb from Inverness get anywhere last night
