It's a massive job to rewrite timetables at such short notice - particularly for Sundays, where there's normally a decent amount of engneering work on a network as big as EMR's.
If I remember correctly this was also common on Southern - where they ended up running strike timetables on dates when strikes had been called off.
If you were being highly cynical you could say the RMT do this deliberately and call strikes off at short-notice as they know the company can’t change it and make it to look a bit more like “bad train company couldn’t organise a piss-up in a brewery”.

Sad to relate but any attempts at talks must have gone badly for a new list of strike dates is now on the EMR website taking Regional up to 2nd January, see; https://www.eastmidlandsrailway.co.uk/rail-strike
As of this afternoon all RMT strikes are suspended until further notice following good progress in negotiations. Further updates expected in early November.

What a shambles - EMR clearly don't give a S**t about Sunday services and staff have probably got used to and quite like having Sundays off ? Yet when GA had guards dispute few years back every Manager of any description was drafted in - why such a different approach for another Abellio TOC ?

A lot of those managers & positions are no longer with the Abellio group. Yes during that dispute they where flown in from Scotrail particularly on Boxing Day at RMT chose the 27th December for maximum affect.
The staff have been back at work this week and last week.

It's good that talks are making progress and that staff are back at work. Hopefully a permanent resolution will be agreed soon.
What is more disappointing is that EMR is continuing to run a strike timetable this Sunday and the next. I can understand it on the first week and possibly this one as well but can they really not run a full service on the 7th November? Or are they not that bothered about it.

There are two-hour gaps in Liverpool - Norwich and Crewe - Nottingham services on Saturday mornings. And while the Norwich - Nottingham - Liverpool service does ostensibly improve to hourly on Saturday afternoons, there were several cancellations on Sat Oct 30th (including Norwich - Liverpool trains terminating short at Nottingham). The excuse given was shortage of staff. No ticket checks were performed on either leg of my Liverpool - Alfreton return journey.
So is this due to genuine understaffing, Covid related absences or industrial action? My long held perception of EMT as Britain's worst TOC continues.

EMT haven’t run the service for over 2 years…
Staff shortages. Mostly drivers but also guards on occasion. There's plenty in training but still some leaving and it takes a long time to replace a 40 year driver, especially if they're in a link with a lot of route knowledge.
Overtime to cover on a Saturday also isn't appealing, particularly over Halloween weekend. You get one Saturday off in 3 and not many people want to volunteer to work it if there's shortages which there always are and who can blame them for that. Fights, vomit, delays - much better to spend one's occasion weekend off in the pub or with the family yourself. It's being going on for a long time and it becomes wearing being constantly asked to give up your days off to cover the basic service when you know it's going to be a nightmare.
Most of those particular trains will be back in December at the timetable change I believe.
Yes, a number of those gaps are due to be filled from the December timetable but do EMR have the staff and units to operate them…?

Seems ludicrous that no EMR services at all are running Norwich - Nottingham on Sunday 7th, is the management and/or train planning dept. really that poor at this TOC ??

More strike dates announced by the RMT for train managers and senior conductors. Friday 3 and Saturday 4 December.
It's a long way away. Hopefully the matter will sort itself in the meantime.

Wouldn't hold your breath given EMR recent response when strike action suspended - straight in too difficult box to reinstate any services even 2 weeks out
Conveniently the weekend of Lincoln Christmas market.
And Matlock Christmas Market, which is almost as good as Lincoln and no steep hill to climb from the station to access it!

If anything good was to come from the government with respect to rail tomorrow, it would be making strikes within the industry illegal.
No thanks. I'm not interested in having my rights removed by the Government. Minimum service etc, perhaps.
Hopefully this will be resolved - it's a few weeks away. If you read the memo, it says the strikes have been called because EMR have failed to produce a written offer, as it promised it would by 1700 last Friday, not for the first time. I think EMR tacitly accept that hence you've not seen much raging from them.
Hopefully an offer will materialise shortly and it will be as sold verbally, in which case there is plenty of time, provided it's acceptable to the staff involved, to call off any action.

What’s the difference between the 2 job titles?
Revenue & non revenue?
And may one group strike & the other stay at work if it happens?
Train Managers are ex-MML and (primarily) work the Intercity and Connect services.
Senior Conductors are ex-CT and (primarily) work Regional services.
There are differences in conditions, pay etc. as the two grades have never been harmonised, but they are otherwise essentially the same.
