Apologies if this is elementary, but where am I most likely to see class 195s in the North? I'm planning to be in Yorkshire in a month or so.

I'd be grateful for information.

Leeds- Manchester Victoria via Bradford (and onto Chester)
Leeds-York mainline
York-Blackpool North
Leeds-Nottingham

Those services are mostly planned for 195s these days.

If you're interested in 331s as well Leeds-Doncaster trains are almost entirely 331s (theoretically a 333 could work it but I can't remember the last time one did)

From what I've seen on trainlogger they are mostly seen in Leeds or Sheffield. I myself still need loads of 195/0s.

Two car units mainly work Leeds to Nottingham, Sheffield to Lincoln, Leeds to Manchester Victoria / Chester.

Three car units work Manchester Airport to Barrow / Windermere, Manchester Airport to Liverpool via Warrington Central, Leeds to Manchester Victoria / Chester, York to Leeds / Blackpool North and Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield.

You can see all the allocations by searching for the relevant units on Realtimetrains.

Top tip is to buy a South Yorkshire Connect+ ticket for the morning peak and a West Yorkshire Daysaver (only valid between the peaks) for the middle of the day if you want to ride a number of two car 195s in a day. Then you can start riding 195s as early as 0500.

12 4-car 331/1s work out of Leeds, 31 3-car 331/0s work out of Liverpool / Blackpool / Manchester.

Absolutely, however there's no real pattern as to which services on the Leeds Triangle they work and which are 333s. I just mentioned the Donny services as they're 100% 331s.

Yes, for guaranteed 331s, but if the OP is looking to ride more than two 4-car 331s they are going to have to venture towards the North West triangle.
