Sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask, but I do need some assistance with booking a journey. I want to get a train from Worcester Shrub Hill to one of the Manchester stations (preferably Oxford St) to go to a gig on the 11th of next month.

Problem is, I can't see any trains going back to Worcester from Manchester that are passed 9pm. Maybe this is just the way it is, but I thought there would be some going till a little bit later at least. I only want to make sure because I don't want to have to book a hotel room for the right, so any alternative would be great!

cheers:p

Afraid that the last train of the day that would get you to Shrub Hill that evening leaves at 21:07 from Manchester Piccadilly and involves a change from Birmingham New Street to Birmingham Moor Street.

Welcome to the forum!
Sorry, but I think you're right. The only services I can find are the 2107 from Piccadilly, changing at Birmingham from New St to Moor St, arriving at Worcester at 2359, and then 2128 to Birmingham only.
Not much use for a gig, unless you leave at the interval!!

A later Manchester-Birmingham option is National Express service NX442 departing Manchester at 23:59, which arrives in Dudley at 02:15 and Birmingham at 02:40 but no onward connections by coach or rail would be available.

The cause of your problem is that on a Sunday morning there appear to be no trains which arrive at Worcester Shrub Hill from anywhere between 0011 and 0914. In these circumstances, I would book a night in a hotel.
