I also had the email. Bit odd but glad to know the ball is still rolling
Same! Replied just incase.I have just had this as well - which is concerning me slightly as I am just waiting for a date for my DMI... I replied immediately so fingers crossed for a response.
I had a quick response to say don't panic and that it was sent to all candidates. Phew!Same! Replied just incase.
Email sent to a load of people this morning, around 10am(ish), basically apologising for the drawn out process and then asking us to reply to confirm that we were still interested in the role.I havent had any email apart from the initial N.I. one which was 3 weeks ago![]()
I didn't get any response/acknowledgement when I confirmed I am still VERY interested ha. Only reponse I've ever got was to ask for NI and heard nothing since. Did everyone get a response from today's email?I had a quick response to say don't panic and that it was sent to all candidates. Phew!
Yes, as follows:I didn't get any response/acknowledgement when I confirmed I am still VERY interested ha. Only reponse I've ever got was to ask for NI and heard nothing since. Did everyone get a response from today's email?
I've been told there are lots of courses planned for the next few months. We will see I suppose.Seems to be hell of alot of testing going on recently but not many starting on courses. Anyone started a course recently? And if u did when did u go into the talent pool. Been eagerly waiting since last September

I've been waiting since last September also. I'm waiting for mainline, I have heard there will be a few valley courses soon, and maybe mainline in November/December time.Fingers crossed![]()
Hi folks. What sort of questions etc are in the DMI.
Don't think Shrewsbury is the priority at the moment so it's just a case of waiting.I've applied for Shrewsbury when the advert was originally out. I've since had to give my NI number several times but heard nothing back since. I've also completed part 1 and 2 to enhanced with another TOC which they are aware of. Does anyone know if they have filled the vacancies at Shrewsbury hence no response
It's really hard to say. It's not like they're just filling vacancies as and when they come; they're filling up a talent pool and using it as need arises. Shrewsbury has had several retirements recently with more soon to come, and it's also seen it's headcount increase so there's been a steady stream of trainees coming through there for a while - it's hard to pinpoint which vacancies exactly trainees have been filling.I've applied for Shrewsbury when the advert was originally out. I was asked what my preference would be so had to choose one. I have since had a medical and as mentioned was told possibly November/December.You’ve been in the talent pool almost a year and are restricting yourself from getting offered a position by waiting for mainline?
Maybe you have reasons for that but I wouldn’t take the risk on missing out. There are internals waiting to transfer over which should be taking priority over you aswell so that should only push you back.
I’d personally try and get my foot in the door and put my name on the transfer list after a year of productive service. Each to their own though.
Go mainline it's a better option I think with future plans in mind.I was asked to choose mainline or valleys by Laura
I’m from Merthyr, so asked for the valley linesWell done on passing mate. Where are you in for? I could be wrong but I'd be surprised if we're in the pool for two years now that COVID is lifting.
Most often it's Chester but it can be in other locations, it depends on where is available. They'll supply train tickets to get there if necessary.Does anyone know where medicals for the North depots take place?

Generally about a week I think. Some a little earlier some a little later.
